Our Canon Faxphone L170 is not working. We don't have a dial tone and there is a clicking noise when you pick up the receiver. We have turned it on and off and tested the phone connection. All of that is fine. The fax machine was working yesterday. When you call the number you get a busy signal. Any ideas on how to fix it?

It most likely is the LIU (Line Interface Unit). or you might have it plugged in the wrong port on the fax itself. Make sure it's plugged into the LINE plug. If it's the LIU it would be cheaper to replace then calling for service. Unless it's under warranty still (usually 90 days)
