Have you tried the cleaning function? It is usually accessed via the Canon software that you would have loaded when you first installed it on your computer.

See Canon instructions:

Have a look here:

If you don't use the printer regularly the ink can dry up block the 'very' small inkjet nozzles. Occasionally people have problems when using generic non-genuine ink cartridges, but I have much experince with re-filling Canon ink cartridges and they are much more user friendly then the durabrite ink cartridges used in Epson printers.

Cheers,
Steve

Q: How can I tell if the computer or the printer is causing a print quality problem? A: You can print a nozzle check pattern to determine whether the print quality problem is caused by the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series or some other source.

Color printing nothing prints in color.

Hello,
A good indicator of it not working is exactly what you are getting a blank area or skectchy lines where the ink should be! You now need a new ink cartridge.

Good Luck!

Skewed printing

Most probably you have to do the Color Registration Settings and the Color Calibration.
The Color Registration will fix the fuzzy printing and the Color Calibration the way how the colors looks. The Color Calibration it is done automatically after each batch of 40 or 80 pages and if you need you can do a manual Color Calibration BUT THE COLOR REGISTRATION must be done manually.

Go to Menu->Others->Service->Color Registration and print a test chart. Will print a page and you have to read the alignment of some lines Cyan Magenta Yellow Black with some numbers. Check the Advanced user guide for details. Basically you have to read the number / letters of each color where 2 lines are matching. Then you can enter those numbers into the printer for each color.

If the Cyan only is off then will be easy ...

Horizontal lines in pictures

If you are using original cartridges then there should not be a problem. The horizontal lines come from the cartridge. Can you pinpoint if it is a color or black line that is missing? My guess is that during the alignment procedure, you are asked to choose a number or letter that corresponds to picture of a the lines that show the best alignment. If you did this correctly, may I ask how many pictures you printed before seeing that line. Is it on the first print or 10th printing? Cuz if it is on the 5th or more full color picture, then the problem is that you you really have the wrong printer. The F380 capacity for printing full color pictures is miniscule. 1 ml per color. So usually after the 3rd color picture, the ink starts to run out. Let me know if this helps.
