When listening to music it suddenly stopped playing. Screen frozen saying shutting down but nothing happening

I've had this happen a couple of times in the last 6 months. You can get it to play again by chosing the format option from the settings menu. Of course, then you've lost everything you had loaded on to it. Download your music/audio books again and they will play.

the simple fix is to just unplug it this will not cause any harm to it and it should fix this problem to you it happens all the time to myne

By pressing Menu and the centre button together the iPod was reset. I got this solution on Google.

Listen everyone this is what happened to me and what I did. Let the battery drain completely (unplugged from computer). It usually takes 5 to 6 hours to drain completely.
Then plug back in and hold the back and down button at the same time. Zune should resume functioning afterwards. All that is needed is a recharge.

If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

It sounds like either an LCD screen failure or a motherboard failure. Have you tried the reset button yet? What happens? Does it reset?

I got the same problem with my old sansa. All i did is return the product with the facture to the store and they gave me a new one.
