SOURCE: the rollers grab the right side of the paper and then jams

the gears which r pulling the paper r slightly worn out or getting blocked by dust particles.
you look carefully where u install the paper for printing there is a black colour round rubber gear with white colour part like a tiny stick attached to it.just check if that part is broken.if yes you have to replace that part.

SOURCE: not grabbing paper

Try cleaning the rollers again and fan the paper. When you clean the rollers, use alcohol and a lint free cloth. Don't put too many sheets in the feed tray.

If the printer is not working properly or to clear memory try this:
1. On the operator panel, press and hold the ON/OFF button for one second. (The display will go blank.) Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.
2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the ON/OFF button again.
3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.
Or Try This:
To clear error messages displayed on the LCD or if the printer is not functioning as expected, it may be necessary to simultaneously press Stop/Reset and ON/OFF buttons.
1. With the printer powered on, press and hold down the Stop/Reset button then press the ON/OFF button.
2. Once the printer is powered off, hold down Stop/Reset and then press ON/OFF.

Won't load paper

Clean the paper feed with alcohol and a paper towel by rubbing and rotating the drum. Wait for it to dry completely then it should grab the paper. Also make sure paper is free from dust. Good luck!

How do I clean the rollers on lexmark x2500

You can try to clean the rollers with a cotton bud to reach it.
Leading cause of paper misfeeds is debris or foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Grab a flashlight and look into the feeder for any obstructions.

My canon pixma mx320 won't feed paper properly it seems to grab one side of paper and feeds it crooked then stops

When the paper does not feed straight, dirty or stickyrollers can cause it to jamb or crinkle, also failure to remove all traces ofpaper from a previous paper jamb will cause further paper jambs.
Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper. The rollers may be dirty or sticky and causes the paper tonot feed straight.
Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits.

Paper won't feed properly and jams. the paper starts to feed then twists and jams.

There are a couple of possibilities. First is a little piece of paper could be stuck somewhere along the paper path and is causing one of the feed rollers to not grab the paper evenly, which will make the page twist on most of the models in this series, if you pull the paper out and take a flashlight and look up the feed path you will usually see anything in the feed path near/on the rollers at the top.
Another possibility is one of the feed rollers is old and worn out (If machine gets heavy use) and it will cause same issue.
Also light paper stock can sometimes be too thin for the rollers to grab properly and cause it to twist and slide around. This is usually more of an issue with gravity/drop feed printers but can also occur on front feed style too. Usually 20lb stock is good, but if thats doing it, you can try going to a 24lb.

I have a Brother DCP 195c and it wouldn't take in other photo papers! I tried to print using the free brother photo paper and it's fine but when I use other inkjet glossy photo, it wouldn't take in the...

Your glossy paper is too smooth for the rubber rollers to grab it.
You need to wet the rubber rollers. Ever licked your finger in order to turn a page in a book? Same concept solution here.

Remove the paper tray. Take a look inside the space created where the tray was, and locate the rubber rollers. Lick your fingers, and use them to moisten the rubber rollers.

Reset printer and print again. Or try "un-smooth" the paper where the rollers grab it.

My Epson 1290 (some years old) doesn't grab paper, especially good inkjet paper) properly. It passes straight through, prints on the roller, and/or I get messages saying the paper isn't loaded properly or...

That could be from the rubber rollers not being able to grip the paper. They get polished or shiney over time with use and age. Then they slip or pull incorrectly and you get your problems. There are other things that can cause this but nothing worth fixing.

Fixing the rubber rollers is easy. You need some ispropyl rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. Make sure it is isopropyl type as this won;t attack other parts. Simpley wet the paper towel and wipe down the rubber rollers. You will see the rubber go from a dull shine to dull flat rubber. This takes off the buildup on the rubber and lets it grip again. Eventually the rubber will age harden and this trick won;t work but this can give you years more service.

When paper feeds it twists and unable to print

How old is your printer? What tends to happen with most rollers is that the rollers that grab the paper, lose their stickiness after much use. These rollers tend to get kind of smooth. What you need to do is grab an eraser, the kind we used to use in school and try and erase all around the roller until it feels "rougher." This will aid in helping to feed the paper without any problems. Good luck.
