the print head is at fault .The instruction manual will tell you the way to clean it .If all else fails remove the head flush with warm water till it runs clear of ink . obtain some Windex glass cleaner ,place head in a bowl cover with cleaner leave over night then flush and dry ,it has worked for me worth a try.

Clean the paper feed with alcohol and a paper towel by rubbing and rotating the drum. Wait for it to dry completely then it should grab the paper. Also make sure paper is free from dust. Good luck!

Printers usually will be recognized when the power is on, also check on the connection. Along with these printers are the software it came with, assuming they're installed and seem inoperable at the moment. So you might want to check Device Manager to make sure everything is all good there. You can also use functions in the control panel and perhaps achieve the same purpose, that is without using the software it came with. Hope you fix it.

Ok, this is what I found when I finally broke down and decided to take it apart. There is a bar with two cams on either side of it that are used to engage the print head to the paper. The smaller cam on the bar has cracked and no longer pushes the print head down on that side of the paper, causing the half picture. What I did was remove the cam from the bar, glue it back together, then wrapped it tight with thread (only one layer, there is a clearance issue), and put epoxy around the thread(to help reinforce the cam). Once the epoxy had cured, I reinstalled the cam to the bar. The cam did crack again, but the thread and epoxy held it tight to the bar. After reinstalling the bar and putting the rest of the printer back together, I crossed my fingers and tried to print a picture. Tada!! It worked!! I have since printed a few more and have not had a problem yet. It may only be a temporary fix, and nothing could be better then the original replacement part (if you know where to get it), but this has worked for me. Good luck and be patient.
