Look inside behind where the carriage is, the plastic strip behind the carriage probably has an ink or grease spot right where you see the blurred letters. Wipe that strip carefully with a Q-tip moist with alcohol, and the blurs should go away...

Well David, it sounds like you need to unplug and open back and try to stick your head up in set and look down into CRT's tubes, you may have phopser damage on one of the tubes, you will need to turn on to see it just be careful not to touch anything electrical
Light print is usually caused by a bad charge roll or transfer roll. Can also be caused by a bad HVPS, which I hope is not. But try cleaning the charge roll. Check the transfer roll, it may have shifted all the way to the left. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.
If it is only from one PC, then there must be a setting in your printer properties (right click on the printer, left click "Properties"), probably under 'printing preferences', then maybe "paper/quality" and or "finishing" (every printer is slighlty different). check theat the Zoom is set at 100% , and anything else that refers to size is correct....that's my best guess.
I called Kodak and they are sending me a new printer head at no charge! Can't get any better then that. Man I talked to was very nice, knowledgeable and polite.
