Open the Start menu and click on the "Printers and Faxes" icon. This will open a window with a list of the printers currently set up on your computer.

Double-click on the icon of the printer you want to change to online. A pop-up window detailing all current print jobs will open.

Go to Printer in the menu bar of the pop-up window and uncheck "Use Printer Offline." This action will change the printer from offline to online.

In the Attention state, the Attention light is blinking and the Go and Ready lights are off. This state can be reached in the following circumstances:

● Paper tray is empty
● Door open
● Toner Cartridge Missing
● Paper jam/ Tray Misfeed

Pressing Go attempts to reset after a jam is cleared or is ignored in the other error cases. It may be necessary to clear the error manually and press Go or close the top cover. If the error still persists, the device will return to the Attention state.

The LJ1010 product series does not have paper out sensors. When the printer is in an Attention state because the paper tray is empty, the user must reload paper and press Go.

This is what the result for that error code is:-
A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort the operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some instances, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, poor connections, or specific software programs. Remove all EIO devices and firmware DIMM if installed. Restart printer. If error is gone replace each EIO device until error appears. Replace device which triggers error. May also be formatter.
Firmware updates are available for some machines at http://hp.com and clicking on the drivers and software tab. Also try printing from a different application. If that works go back to the first application and try printing a different file to determine if the problem is file related. You may need to reseat the memory DIMM's or replace the firmware DIMM or formatter board.

Hp Printer Error "Carriage cannot move paper jam" when non exists.

Hp Printer Error "Carriage cannot move paper jam" when non exists.

The printer made strange noises this week. Assuming you are certain there is no paper jam and tipped the printer upside down as well. You have an error that leaves the print heads in the middle near the middle or left or right.

This is for you. "Carriage cannot move paper jam"

Whats happening is the print heads slide and are moved by a motor and belt.
To know whereabouts the print head is there is a resistance strip.
This is a strip of what looks like old real to real magnetic tape.
Its stretched as a strip in line with the print heads and is hidden from view.

Under the plastic see Arrow, is the location of this strip.

A sensor similar to a magnetic tape head which reads its position.

look at the image and just below this you will feel it. Clean this length of tape with some nail varnish cleaner and a non lint cloth.

You can slide the print head to clean the hole length.Your pint head will now position and park correctly.

Check in your device manager list to uninstall any listed as not installed properly then rerun the setup program. Only plug the printer usb in when the program prompts you.
The noise is normal as the printer is seting the head position and cleaning the print head, it is also running the rollers to check if there is a paper blockage or any paper in the load tray.

I get to the device manager by using the explorer for windows files, then on the Left side where the hard drivers are listed right click on This PC, choose properties.
A new screen will open that is labelled System.
On the top left you will see Device Manager.

Hope that helps :)
