Back door won't close

We had a paper jam, opened up the backdoor and now it won't close.

no, it's only able to close about halfway up, and than it stops and you can't force to close any further, there is two pieces of plastic with two rubber washer type things that hold it in place on a metal spool I think thats whats stopping it, but I don't know how to fix that problem

  • alegere Jan 11, 2008

Its snapped in right, we just had a paper jam, opened the back door, and now we can't close the back door, like I said, I think it has something to do with the black plastic things on the metal spool the is supposed to sync up with the plastic dividers( sorry for the lack of better terminology) There are two gray rubber washers that hold on this plastic black thing to the metal spool that runs across that back inside...I think that is what is hindering the door from closing, and we think that it may need to be adjusted or something, who knows, cause we don't, that all the info I have. Its kind of perplexing.

Does it close all the way but doesn't latch so it falls back open or is it stuck open?

Might not be snapped in properly? Try pushing it in on it's hinge.

May just need to be pushed harder, sometimes things get out of place and just need some elbow grease to push them back where they belong. Otherwise, without seeing your printer and not having seen this model first hand before I can't guess as to why your door won't close. Good Luck!

Hp3035 paper jam inback door

If you have a paper jam in the back door of your HP LaserJet 3035 printer, follow these steps to clear the jam safely:
  1. Turn Off the Printer: Start by turning off the printer to avoid any potential accidents or injuries.
  2. Open the Back Door: Locate the back door of the printer. It is typically accessible from the back of the printer and may have a release latch or button. Gently open the back door.
  3. Remove the Jammed Paper: Carefully remove the jammed paper from the printer. Avoid tearing the paper while removing it. If the paper is stuck firmly, try to pull it out in the direction of the paper path.
  4. Inspect for Residual Paper: After removing the jammed paper, check for any small bits of paper or debris that may have been left behind. Clear any remaining paper or debris from the back door area.
  5. Check the Fuser Area: The fuser assembly, which is located just after the back door, may also cause paper jams. Inspect the fuser area for any visible jams or obstructions.
  6. Close the Back Door: After ensuring that there is no more jammed paper or debris, close the back door of the printer securely until it clicks into place.
  7. Turn On the Printer: Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on. It should be ready to use.
  8. Test Print: Perform a test print to ensure that the paper jam issue has been resolved.

My Dell MFP 1815dn has a paper Jam 2. I removed the toner cartridge and pulled the paper out, before I realized that I needed to open the back. I believe I thought I got the paper out, but the printer is...

After a paper jam occurs in the rear cover of a Dell Laser Multi-Function Printer 1815N, the printer will not resume when the jammed paper is removed. This is the normal behavior of the printer as there is no sensor on the rear cover of this printer.

To open the back cover and remove any stuck paper, perform the following steps:
  1. Open and close the front cover.
The jammed paper may automatically exit the printer. If the paper does not exit, go to the next step.
  2. Gently pull the paper out of the output tray.
  3. If you cannot see the paper in the output tray or the paper does not move when pulled, open the rear cover.
  4. Skip to step 9. If you do not see the paper, go to the next step.If you see the jammed paper, push the two blue pressure levers up and remove the paper.
  5. Release the blue strap, the rear cover stopper, and fully open the rear cover.
  6. Unfold the duplex guide fully.
  7. While pushing the fuser lever to the right, open the fuser door. NOTICE: Make sure to unfold the duplex guide before opening the fuser door, or the fuser door may be damaged.
  8. Pull the jammed paper out.
  9. Return the levers, fuser door, rear cover stopper, and duplex guide to their original position.
  10. Close the rear cover.
  11. Open and close the front cover.
    Printing automatically resumes.

I have several sheets of paper jammed in my printer and I can,t pull it out

Welcome to FixYa!

Don't try to pull out the jammed paper at the front panel of the printer. You might risk damaging your printer. Remove the jammed paper from the "Back Door" of the printer. The type of backdoor depends on what kind of HP printer you have. Below are 2 common backdoor of HP printers.
jas247_36.gif

1. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
2. While the printer is still on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
3. Turn the printer so that the rear of it faces you.
4. Press in the tab on the left side of the rear door to release it. Then pull the door away from the printer to remove it.
5. Gently pull any jammed paper out of the rollers with your two hands.
6. Return back the back door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place.
7. Plug the power cord into the printer.
8. Turn the printer on again using the power button.

Note: Make sure to remove the jammed paper cautiously, any small pieces of paper left inside the printer might cause additional paper jam.

Some HP printers uses a latch to open the backdoor. Refer to the image below:

I hope that this will help you.

How do I fix a paper jam cef for epson aculaser cxn11nf?

Diagram of doors should be above control panel of printer.

Lift ADF/Scanner up. Open door "C" just below it. Lift orange photoconductor lever up to release photoconductor. Lift photo conductor up towards you. Inspect for jammed paper and remove if necessary. Replace photoconductor, close lever and door "C".

Open door "E" on rear of printer and look for jammed paper and remove. Close door "E".

Last place to look is in paper tray. Take stack of paper out and look for paper jam. Removed as needed.

These are the three places i have had jams and you will only find the jam in one of them. Most likely it will be in back in Door E

Message on brother MFC7420 "back door open" when it's not

Actually, you need to double check the back cover and front cover, open them all to check all paper jam.
Besure to check the back cover, normally all paper jam is from the back.
be sure to close the front cover at the last cover to close.

My printer always tells me paper jam

Hi there,

the issue can be found when the paper feed rolls in the printer or the internal encoder strip are dirty.

Please try the following:

- open the backdoor of the printer
- also open the front door
- unplug the power chord without shutting down the printer
- now clean the paper feed rolls inside the printer with a soft rubber
- turn the rolls some times (10 tries or so) from down to up
- close the backdoor
- move the cartridge cart some times from one side to the other
- now you see a transparent strip over the metal bar
- this strip you can clean with cleaning alcohol
(be carefully! don't loose the strip or take too much alcohol)
- now let the printer dry over night (let it be open)
- next morning, close the front door
- press # and 6 at the same time and hold them
- keep them pressed and plug in the power chord
- keep them pressed until you see "semi nvm reset"

done

Hope it helps,
Henning

Paper jam. we removed the major portion of it. bit of paper is inside. we can't find out that. display shows 13.20.00. we removed front and back except toner catridge. what we have to do.

Try this linke below.

Or i cut and paste text, but you should view pictures. If you cannot get to it from link. Try typing "Paper jams alternating between front and back door" It should be first link from HP about a 3550.

document.tlSearch.tx.value=unescape("") s.gif s.gif
HP Color LaserJet 3500, 3550, and 3700 Series Printers - Paper Jams Alternating Between Front and Back Door Issue Description Customers may see paper jams error messages with no paper seen in the paper path. The message will alternate between check the front door and the back door. Workaround The release lever engagement tabs on the rear door can be bumped into the in-correct position. The purpose for this tab is to re-engage the fuser release levers as the rear door is closed. When one or both of these are left in the in-correct position the printer goes into a cycle of alternating between a "Jam in the Front Door" message and "Jam in the Rear Door" message. There is no paper present in the paper path when this happens. When a customer gets the "Jam in the Front Door" message and opens the front door, no paper is found. After the customer closes the front door, they get the "Jam in the Rear Door" message. When they open the rear door, find not paper (even pull out the fuser), and close the rear door, they get the "Jam in the Front Door" message. This cycle will continue

Placing both engagement tabs in the "Correct" position solves the problem and allows the print job to continue.for as long as the customer is willing to keep checking.
