If you believe the scanner is still functional it is possible it won't operate with Windows 7. I have a laser printer like that and no updated drivers are available and in spite of using the Windows Compatibility function the printer is now useless.

You could try uninstalling the scanner driver and restarting the computer and then when you reconnect your scanner a "found new hardware" wizard should appear which can search the internet for a suitable driver.

You could also try using the Windows Compatibility function that in theory allows earlier software to be used - mostly unsuccessfully in my experience.

How are you doing? In order for scanner to work in all multi-functional printers, you must install all functions. While installing printer Sharp Ar165m, it will ask you if you need to install scanner and you must select that box otherwise it will install printer alone. Also there is an option where you are to configure the button keys on scanner function, please configure the buttons while installing. This will allow you to press scanner key on the copier to start scanning without necessarily selecting from the computer otherwise --- will appear and nothing happens. So insert the software CD and remember to select scanning option.

The printer must complete the startup routine before you can use it for any function. Part of that routine is to make sure that there is ink in each of the slots. Without it, none of the functions will work.

i would say possibly you are missing out on something..because if the other functions particularly photocopying are working then this should work..as in if the photocopying function works then the scanner is ok cause basically in photocopying the machine scans then prints... perhaps check whether you are correctly following procedure to scan..most hp all in ones have a button on them that you press and it automatically initiates scanning and simultaneously the software on the pc is initiated..try this,if not then try reinstalling the hp software..hope this helps..regards

You may need the "full-featured" software installed on your computer in order for your DeskJet F380 scanner to function. If you do not, you may download this software from the HP support site: (choose your operating system)

The scanner function is not available when you are connected wireless, you must be connected via USB to your PC for the scanner to function correctly.

Using my scanner

The installation software you installed with your MP210 should have a program call "MP Navigator EX". It is quite easy to use and very intuitive. You can control all scanner functions through it.

New installation 810, printer works A1, scanner won't work

Uninstall and reinstall the software. Normally the software installed on the computer controls the scanner functions for the all in one dell stuff. Check dells site also for any updates that might correct this issue.

As far as I've understand from your question i guess printer's not printing so we'll do the basic to make it up and running.....

Firstly uninstall the current driver software and if u have the disk of PRINTER'S DRIVER SOFTWARE use it to remove the driver completely and then clear the TEMP AND PREFETCH files.
Disconnect the printer's cable form the back of the computer and disconnect printer's power cable and turn it off.
Press and hold the printer's power button for 30 Seconds then release it.
Turn off your computer and then disconnect all the cables from the back of the computer.
Turn off computer.
Press and hold the computer's power button for 30 Seconds then release it.

Wait 2 minutes.

Hook up monitor, mouse, keyboard, internet connection and power cable and then restart your computer,.

Hook up printer's power cable and then turn it on.
hook up printer to the computer.
