Sc997 when i open my machine, it opens to fax and give me sc997 error to copy. it works to fax and printer correctly but i can't copy.

Simple solution. I just had the same problem. Make sure the top cover on the left side is snapped in. It wasn't obvious that it was open. They should probably give a better code because it is not the scanner door that is open.

CClean The MX882 ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)

Be sure to turn off the power and unplug the power cord before cleaning the machine.

• The power cannot be turned off while the machine is sending or receiving a fax, or when the received fax or unsent fax are stored in the machine's memory. Make sure if the machine completed sending or receiving all the faxes before disconnecting the power cord.

• If you unplug the power cord, all the faxes stored in the machine's memory will be deleted.

5. With a soft, clean, lint-free and dry cloth, wipe off any paper dust from the inside of the Document Feeder Cover (A).

7. After wiping, close the Document Feeder Cover by pushing it until it clicks into place.

It might be due to sensor faulty. Perform following input test.

Registration sensor 03-[FAX]ON/[2]/[A]
Upper drawer feed sensor 03-[FAX]OFF/[6]/[E]
Exit area Jam access cover Exit sensor 03-[FAX]ON/[2]/[B]

The 900 error usually indicates a software or communications problem. The first thing to check is the base printer.

Turn off the printer and disconnect every cable, except for the power cord.

Turn on the printer and see if the error returns.

If the error does not return, try to print a test page from the Test Menu.

If the test page prints correctly, the printer's hardware is most likely working correctly. The source of the problem is probably outside the base printer.

Most likely you will need to open up the scanner and clean the mirrors. Can be tricky.

open the back cover and you find a two wire connector just near ribbon connector it is thermistor connector the printer is sensing this connector as open or not connected explore and fix.
