press the orange key threee times and enter 107 and then press and hold the stop key for about five seconds. the machine then takes you into the sysytem. select sp mode on the screen. put off the machine for a minute and put on again

First download the twain drivers from Ricoh website or if you have cd down load it from it. Then from there when you go to scan should give you selection option for it.

Clean MBU interface. Clean with dev. Make sure you can see gold pins. Clean male adapter on MBU board with dev. Pic : SP201 ricoh MBU clean up with dev.

Could be one of a few things:

Most likely is the transfer roller. If it's dirty or old and not applying enough charge, it may not be pulling all the toner away from the drum. Replacing the transfer roller is easy if you can get a new one.

Are you sure you have the correct toner? The wrong toner can definitely cause copy quality problems.

If the springs that hold the press roller against the hot roller are not properly in place (or if they have started to lose tension) the toner won't be fully fused onto the paper.

I'd start with the transfer roller (black roller that sits opposite the drum on the right side door) first -- it's the most likely culprit.

Easier said than done...you'll probably need a tech for this one.
First..to scan to folder you require a software called "scanrouter Lite" from Ricoh, which is actually kind of hard to get a hold of these days, since it's nnot supported anymore, and then the configuration is not easy , because it is proprietary...meaning only Ricoh uses it, and it is almost impossible to configure for anyone else that has not used it.
There is however Scan to email, and for this you can open a web browser, and type it's Ip address (if you have it connected via tcp/ip port), enter "admin mode"...user name= "admin", password = "password"...then enter all network settings...IP, DNS, POP,SMTP, etc. then in "address book" enter your destination settings.
This is not a configuration that is easy for a novice either, and it is also not compatible with an email server that uses authentication for outgoing mail.

820 Self-diagnostic error: CPU

• An unexpected exception or
interruption occurs during the self-
diagnostic test.
• An error is detected in the MBU.

Possible Cause:
• Defective controller
• Defective firmware
• Loose MBU jumper

Code 820
MBU error (The jumper is loose.)
Set the jumper (on the MBU) correctly.

• SC: 820
• code: 612
• detail: 40000000

You need a tech...here is the description of your "SC":
The scanner home position sensor
does not detect the scanner leaving
the home position.

Here are the possible solutions:
- Defective scanner home
position sensor
- Defective scanner drive motor
- Defective scanner home

- Defective BICU board

TD sensor is a electronic sensor that is short term from T-toner & D-density, so the Toner Density sensor is at is says Detects and measures how much and does have a toner in the developer unit.

Sounds like it thinks there is a jam. Check registeration sensor flag also exit sensor and duplex sensor. Could be dust or fuser sensor out of place or the duplex guide is broken

To clear the memory (reboot) the RICOH AFICIO you will have to send it to the factory where they will wipe the memory and restore the machine to its defaults.
