Why don't Saeco put such a simple solution in the troubleshooting section of their manual? The term 'ventilate' isn't even mentioned!

I cleaned my Jura Capresso with a tablet, but the message "Clean Machine/Ready" won't switch back to "Ready". Any suggestions?

Fortunately the problem you describe is not model specific. All Jura machines in the series C, E, F, J, S & Z models have the same problem. The Jura recommended maintenance is insufficient or erroneous. Here is how it occurs:
1- When new machine is set up, the instructions advice the owner to set up OK for use of Filter cartridges. This set helps only to display reminders for replacing the filter.
2- The initial set up instruction also advises that with regular use of Filter, descaling the machine will not be needed. That is really not accurate. Consequently, the reminders for descaling are delayed for over one year or more. This causes serious consequence with accumulation of Calcium deposits in the entire hydraulic and coffee system.
3- Use of Filters alone does not prevent Calcium deposits. Cleaning tables recommended & sold by Jura do not remove Calcium deposits in the coffee/water passages. The automatic descaling method recommended by Jura leaves the coffee side of the machine unclean. The error message in your machine is due to Calcium deposits in the Brew group, coffee outlet & the faucet dispensing coffee in the cup. I suggest all Jura machine owners should manually descale machine. Manually descaling includes use of 6 to 10 rinse cycles with descaling solution in the water tank. The error message "Clean Machine" is accurate. This error message is pointing to descale the Brew group, coffee outlet tube and coffee dispensing faucet by using rinse cycles.

After the rinse cycles are complete, refill Descaling solution in the water tank & continue descaling the rest of the machine by using hot water dispensing function, ½ cup at a time until the tank is empty. Finally, give a final flushing of machine to flush out remaining descaling solution inside the machine.

Screen indicates to ventilate and won't allow any fuctions till ventilated. Have ran ventilate cycle several times, however machine still indicates to ventilate. Water flow is extremely low to nil when...

Hi,

If you open the steam knob and only can get a half cup of water, then your flow meter in the machine have to be replaced.

If you need to replace the flow meter then it has spare part number: 286473300

Make sure to descale your machine often.

Leaking water out of bottom and will not brew a full cup

It may be time to descale. Most models will give you a message when it's time to have the mineral deposits cleaned.
HERES HOW TO DO THAT...
Empty water resevoir. Disable auto off. Pour approx 48 oz of undiluted white vinegar into resevoir. PLace large mug on drip plate, run brew cycle, dump contents of mug in sink. DO NOT USE A K-CUP.
Repeat this process until the add water light is indicated.
Let brewer stand for at least 4 hours while still on.
Discard any residual vinegar in the resevoir and rinse thorughly.
AFTER approx 4 hours...fill resevoir with water.
RINSE:
PLace a large mug on the drip plate and water brew cycle. Pour the contents of the mug into the sink.
REPEAT this brew process until the add water light is indicated.
YOU MAY NEED TO REPEAT THIS "RINSE" PROCESS if you notice any residual taste.

Descale

Delonghi EAM, ESAM, ECAM, Nespresso

Over time, the continuous heating up of the water used to make the coffee leads to lime scale building up in
the inner circuits of the appliance.
When the appliance displays the message:
DESCALE
you should perform the descale cycle.
Proceed as follows:
• make sure the appliance is ready.
• press the button (the light over the button comes on) then press the button repeatedly until
the appliance displays:
DESCALE No
• Press and the appliance displays the message:
DESCALE Yes
• Press the button to start the descale programme.
• Empty the water tank and add the contents of one bottle (125 ml) of DURGOL descaler plus
one litre of water. For subsequent descaling, use descaler of the same type and brand as supplied
(available from technical service centres authorised by the manufacturer).
• attach the water spout to the nozzle;
• place a container with a minimum capacity of 1.5 litres under the hot water spout (Fig. 3);
• press the button. Descaler runs off from the hot water spout into the container below. The appliance
displays:
APPLIANCE IN DESCALE
• the descale programme automatically performs a series of run offs and pauses to remove lime scale
deposits from inside the coffee maker.
• After about 30 minutes, the appliance displays:
RINSING FILL TANK
The appliance must now be rinsed through to eliminate residues of descaling solution from inside the appliance.
Proceed as follows:
• empty the water tank, rinse and fill with clean water.
• Reposition the tank.
• Empty the full container and then put it back under the hot water spout.
• Press the OK button. Hot water is run off from the spout into the container below and the appliance displays:
RINSING
• When the water tank is empty, the appliance displays the message:
RISRINSING COMPLETE PRESS OK
• Press the OK button and refill the water tank with clean water.
• The descale programme is now terminated and the appliance is ready to make coffee again.
NOTE: if the descaling cycle is interrupted before completion, the appliance continues to display the descale
message and the programme must be started again from the beginning. Empty the water tank, rinse, fill with
clean water and run off a cup of hot water.
IMPORTANT: FAILURE TO DESCALE THE APPLIANCE REGULARLY INVALIDATES THE GUARANTEE.

Descaling Single Boiler Home espresso machines (HOME SINGLE BOILER ESPRESSO MACHINES)

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent.
1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results).
2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution.
3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes.
4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes.
Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through.
5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty!
6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.

My keurig says I need to descale. How?

Descaling depends the size of the reservoir. I see the B60 but not the B66 at the Keurig site. The two units are apparently the same from searching the support side of the Keurig site: http://www.keurig.com .

For the Mini coffee makers, you use 20 oz of vinegar (2 10 oz cycles). For the larger Keurig units, it takes 48 oz of vinegar.

In either case, fill the reservoir with vinegar and put a large ceramic (12 oz mug for the mini unit) mug on the drip tray. Do not add a K-cup. For the B60 (and probably the B66), press the Brew button. Discard the vinegar after the cycle. Repeat the brew process until Add Water is indicated. Discard the vinegar each time. Then wait 4 hours with the unit on. Discard the remaining vinegar and rinse the reservoir. Fill the reservoir with 48 oz of water and brew several cups without a K-cup until the "Add water" message appears. Discard the water in the mug each time. Repeat the vinegar cleaning if De-scale still appears in the LCD. Run more water without the K-cup if you notice a remaining taste in the coffee after the rinse procedure.

For the mini, fill the reservoir with 10 oz of water, lift the Brewer handle and lower it after 5 seconds with no K-cup in the unit. Press the Brew button. Discard the vinegar after the cycle. After the first cycle, pour the other 10 oz of vinegar into the Cold Water Reservoir. Lift the handle and lower it after 5 seconds. Press the Brew button and wait until the light becomes steady. When vinegar starts to be dispensed, power off the unit. Wait 30 minutes. Then power on the unit and lift and lower the handle again. Then discard the vinegar after the cycle. Next run 4 rinse brew cycles with 10 oz of water each time. Discard the water each time. The unit should be ready to brew with a K-cup after the 4 rinse cycles.

I hope this helps.

Descaling cycle will not run

You need to push the hot water button on the machine panel to allow water to run out of the steam wand. After a few seconds the machines ventilate message should clear.
