This needs looking at by a Saeco repair shop - the brew unit travels in a distinct 'pathway' from being empty, to filled, to coffee being tamped, then to being emptied. Yours is obviously not working as intended. It may be the brew unit needs lubricating ( NOT OIL) or it may be the gear system that drives the brew units movements that needs attention. Cheers Mike.

(Besides the possibility of being clogged) there is also a microswitch which controls when there is enough coffee. If this switch isn't working properly, the machine will keep grinding coffee indefinitely. The microswitch has code XCC5-81 (you can look for it on e.g. Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Schalter-Mikroschalter-micro-switch-XCC5-81-P5-Saeco-Incanto-Magic-Vienna-Royal-/301012989303?hash=item4615c5b577:g:EvAAAOSw4CFYyrfB). Hi There is a test mode for the Digital and we can see if you have a bad power board. Turn the machine off in back. Push and hold the small coffee button and the menu button (top left) at the same time and while you are holding the buttons turn the machine on. Release the buttons and you should have numbers in the display. If you can push the bottom left button and the machine makes a sound like the motor is moving, turn it off and then back on. If you don't get the message now you should really clean and lube your brew unit.

Too few indications. Generally coffee ground too fine. Hope that helps. M.

Sounds like there is not enough coffee to make a solid puck. If you get crema, grind coarseness sounds ok. A finer grind will produce less coffee grounds for the puck and increases chance of clogging. You may have to balance grind size with amount of crema to get solid puck. Big problem with these is you want dark roast for espresso, but oil on beans clogs grinder. Are you using a dark roast? A medium roast works better in these. Or, can you increase the grind time? My Super-auto had a program option to increase time. But not in reg instructions. Got it from authorized repair facility.

You need to "fool" the machine that the waste container, the brew group and the front panel are in the correct position. You do this by inserting something thin, for example a plastic knife into each slot inside the machine. You will need three plastic knives. Make sure that the machine is on then put one in each of the slots at the same time. The machine will then begin its self test procedure and return to the starting position.

This has happened to me. If the problem is the brew group gear is in the wrong position, you can manipulate the brew group until it matches up with the drive gear in the machine. You'll know it matches if you can insert the brew group back in the machine full until it clicks.

can depends many factors, try to grind finer coffe powder and warm well the machine before starting to brew coffee. If the grinder does not make finer coffe powder then you must contact the service, check if blades are in place before calling them...

Hi, I had the same problem. The motor ran too slow because it did not receive the adequate amount of power. The power is handled by a small part on the circuit board. I replaced it by a part I bought on ebay called Transistor BD245C (or TIP 33C). Now it's working perfect again :-) Details can be found on ebay by typing '262197092158' in the search box. Although the page is in German, it has several pictures that make clear which part is meant. Good luck!

what exactly must be cleaned? you mean the tray for the used coffee grounds or other components?

Saeco Vienna... • Answered on Jan 24, 2016

is just normal after you brew coffee that the used coffee pucks get off the machine

Sounds like the grind is too fine. If its (the big knob) below 8 in the bean hopper, turn it to 16. You can turn the knob to a larger # anytime but you have to be grinding to turn to a smaller #. Make 3 coffee but push the button when it starts to brew to stop the brewing until you get to the third coffee and just let this one brew. If it brew correctly then turn the knob down to a # a couple higher than you had before.
