The temperature control light is flashing

I have tried powering the appliance off and when I turn it back on, its still flashing. The temperature is set at 2 - the coldest in this weather. The freezer is ok, but there is a fine layer of ice on the back for the fridge shelfing.
Can you please advice?
thanks
Roz

your probably not going to like this answer but... it is best to fully defrost it as it may be ice on one of the sensors the defrost system cannot clear. clue= Layer of ice on back fridge shelving.
Turn it off/unplug it! let stand for at least 8 hrs with doors ajar.
or if you want to unplug remove contents and warm up interior for a hour or more with a hair dryer.
have a sponge or towel handy for wiping water from the bottom. don't put dryer on bottom it may get wet and short. Not good. check rear and sides if they are still cold/cool keep dryer running for 30 min more or so.

By turning it off you just reset the PCB and if it is ice on the evaporator or sensor it will not be working correctly and show as an intermittent fault...flashing light.
Hope this helps you a little.

SOURCE: freezer/fridge won't get cold enough

Madezmom, you have a defrost issue. If your model starts with 106 you more than likley have a bad defrost bi-metal, I will attach a picture of bad one. This sits on the evaporator in the freezer section behind the panel. You will have to remove the shelves and remove the back panel. Defrost the evaporator completely. The part number for the bi-metal is 2196155. See if yours is bulged like the one in the attached photo. If so, that's your problem..Catriver..post back.

I just defrosted a Zanussi fridge/freezer, turned it back on but won't temperature control any more.

'regulator'? Do you mean the thermostat? Modern fridge freezer thermostats don't make any noise because they are electronic and use a Thermistor electronic sensor. Is the compressor and fan running? It takes about 2 hours to get back to temperature. The control knob should always be set midway to start, then you adjust +/- depending on the internal temperature..

My Hotpoint FUFL1810P that keeps beeping and the lights inside are flashing when the door is opened, I have reset by turning the power off and on again and also by turning the freezer switch off and on....

Something to think about from the manual for your freezer. Also I would check the temperature of your freezer with a thermometer to make sure it is freezing ok .Troubleshooting
If the appliance does not work, before calling for Assistance (see
Assistance), check for a solution from the following list.
The green POWER indicator light does not illuminate.
• The plug has not been inserted into the electrical socket, or not
far enough to make contact, or there is no power in the house.
The motor does not start.
• The appliance comes with a motor protection control (
see Start-
up and use
).
The indicator lights are on but the light is dim.
• Pull out and reverse the plug before putting it back in the socket.
a) The alarm sounds.
a) The refrigerator door has remained open for more than two
minutes (the buzzer will stop sounding when you shut the door) or
the correct switching-off procedure was not followed (
see
Maintenance
).
b) The alarm sounds and the two yellow indicator lights
flash.
b) The temperature in the freezer is too high. Check the quality of
the food products and dispose if necessary.
+ buzzer =
Heating is excessive
c) The alarm sounds and the two yellow indicator lights
as well as the green one flash.
c) The temperature in the freezer has reached a dangerous level.
The food must be disposed immediately.
+ buzzer =
Heating danger
b/c)
In both these cases the freezer will maintain a temperature of
about 0°C so that the food does not re-freeze.
To turn off the acoustic signal open and close the refrigerator door.
To restore normal operation bring the FREEZER OPERATION knob
setting to
(off) and turn the appliance on again.
The green POWER indicator light flashes.
• The appliance is not operating correctly. Contact the Technical
Assistance Centre.
The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.
• The doors do not close properly or the seals are damaged.
• The doors are opened too frequently.
• The OPERATION knobs are not on the correct setting (
see
Description
).
• The refrigerator or the freezer have been over-filled.
The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.
• The REFRIGERATOR OPERATION knob is not on the correct
setting (
see Description
).
• The food is in contact with the back inside wall of the refrigerator.
The motor runs continuously.
• The SUPER FREEZE button has been pressed (rapid freezing):
the yellow SUPER FREEZE light is on or flashing (
see
Description
).
• The door is not closed properly or is continuously opened.
• The outside ambient temperature is very high.

What could be the problem when red ligth is flashing on the hot water tank control?

If its 1 blink every 3 seconds its normal operation.
Otherwise, this is the meaning of the various blinks:

No blinks = no poilet light (not enough power (in millivolts) to keep it lit.
2 flashes = insufficient voltage (in millivolts) to gas valve.
4 flashes = high water temperature (over heat sensor activated.
5 flashes = water temperature sensor failure.
7 flashes = gas control valve / thermostat failure.
8 flashes = Only occurs if the gas control valve or Temperature knob has been turned off And the thermocouple continued to produce electric power.
9 flashes = Combustion chamber temperature sensor open or shorted.
10 flashes = LDO occurrence was detected in the combustion chamber (contaminants).

Lights flash on my Frigidaire dish washer model #FFBD2407LW0A when trying run it through a cycle. will not start. When I turn power off and back on the heat lights flash.

Thank you for your post, friend!

From what you are describing it sounds like a possible issue with your keypad or control panel. I would recommend performing a power reset on your appliance which you can do by unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes.

If that does not help correct the issue I would suggest seeking assistance from a professional to come out and properly diagnosis your appliance to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

Why is the pilot light on my ERN7926 frost free flashing?

To Start the Appliance
Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hours after
installation. Plug in the appliance and switch on at the mains
supply. Turn the thermostat control (B) to a midway
setting and adjust the slider control, situated on the
back wall of the fridge section, to a midway position
between "MIN" and "MAX".
The pilot light (A) will illuminate. Leave the appliance for approximately 4 hours for the correct temperature to be reached before placing food inside.
To switch off the appliance turn the thermostat
control to position "?"

After 4 hours, measure the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer. Should be between 2 and 10 degrees centigrade in refrigerator and app. -18 in freezer.

STOPPED RUNNING

Hello Warner, thank you for your post!

Typically when a freezer displays "OFF" it means that the temperature control is in the off position. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try re-activating your freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. If the issue persists, then the freezer could possibly be experiencing a communication issue with the control board, temperature control or a potential wiring failure. At this point, I suggest reaching out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint the exact problem.

Best of luck!

Power freeze light does not come on

Hi rigbyrr - The Power Freezer light indicates that the freezer is properly connected to electrical power. Is there power to the unit? The light glows even when the temperature control is turned to OFF. Let's try reprogramming the freezer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit back. If the issue persists, check to ensure that the appliance temperature control is in the ON position and that the plug is not loose and tightly pushed into electrical outlet. If everything is properly set then in this regard, I would suggest contacting an Authorized Service Technician that will be able to assist you in the diagnosis of your unit.

The control panel is flashing a L. What does this mean?

Hi.

The model indicated: MDB5651A does not have display and the error codes are shown like flashing lights. If that is your model and problem please just tell me what lights are flashing.

In Maytag with display instead, the L on display means that the machine is control locked. That is not an error message, but a code telling that the machine has been locked by the user (probably by mistake since you are the user).

I quote from Maytag technical documentation:

? If a cycle or option pad is pressed after the controls have been locked, the indicator light next to lock graphic will flash five times. On selected models with a countdown display, the display will flash the symbol "L" simultaneously with lock indicator.

? This option does not lock the door, only the dishwasher controls.

To set :
1. Press the Heated Dry pad for three seconds.
2. An indicator light next to the lock graphic will illuminate when the controls are locked.

To Cancel Control Lock:
1. Press the Heated Dry pad for three seconds.
2. The indicator light will go off as instructed.

Try pressing the the Heated Dry pad for three seconds. If that doesn't work disconnect power. Connect back and try again unlock (power off does not remove the lock). If that still does not work there may be a faulty part. In that case turn appliance off and give me the full model number.

Start holding down the Heated Dry pad for three seconds. In normal conditions that is enough to get rid of the L and of control lock.

If you need parts or schematics see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

Regards.
