Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. To reset the Printer turn it off and remove the power plug from the outlet. About fifteen minutes later, plug it in again and turn the printer on. If still the issue the printer is facing with persists, then you need to follow these steps as the 5010 error relates to the drivers and you need to download the latest drivers compatible with operating system and model of printer.
Uninstall any previous drivers for the printer and to install the printer, unplug the printer completely, restart your computer. Install the drivers using the file you downloaded from canon, do not attach the printer to the computer, or power on until you are told to do so. You can download the drivers from the following link of Canon---
Printer Drivers for Canon Pixma MP460
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

yes it sais error 5010 all it tells me on the pc scrren
Error 5010
every time a turn on the printer an error message goes on saying "error code 5010" could you please help me?
This is most likely a microprocessor hang-up problem. If so do a complete power down for 5 mins (including unplugging printer from electrical outlet for full reset).
