Hum....e5 error.

The truth is...there is no solution for e5 error.
U may see some solutions through web, however, non of them works..

The only way you can get out of e5 error, replace with new cartridge..
or...
prevent it...before you face it!!

How?
Whenever you take out the cartridge from printer, make sure unplug the power code first..
and then take and refill or whatever...

And then when you put it back....do it when power code is unplugged as well.

Personally, I refilled and used CL831 more than 8 times..

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK". Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good. For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video. And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

I had this problem it turned out to be a paper jam I could see it sitting under the front rollers behind the ink cartridge transport. I removed the back panel and then the transport cover exposing the paper. I then gently removed the paper. That sorted it no problems. Canon printer error 5100 describes a physical problem, either with a paper jam or an improperly seated ink cartridge. Resolving the error is a quick process, requiring only a few standard procedures. The Canon printer error 5100 indicates that something is jamming the cartridges, that is, the process of the cartridges going and returning is being hampered, so what I recommend is if any of you have a continuous ink system installed in any of these printers, check if this system is not letting the cartridge or rather the head with the cartridges reach where it has to go. If after discarding the previous solution, the printer still does not work, we recommend taking the equipment to technical service to determine the cause of the problem and provide a better diagnosis. I Hope my Answer will Resolve you Printer error. If Not check this : Canon printer error 5100

Hope this helps
With thanks to a canon tech
Ok Well again I will repeat this answer with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.
