Black ink smears on photo as it prints

My completed photo printing has black ink smeared on it. It's almost like I need to clean the inside of the printer.

Some of Epson's ink have inconsistent quality. Some batches have runny ink. Nozzle cleaning and print head alignments don't help at all, if they didn't make it worse in the first place. I've experienced problems like yours several times as well. Here's what I did that worked for my Epson 960. Move the printer to a really dry place. Take out all the ink and let the printer sit and dry for a few days and then change all ink cartridges. Make sure you buy newly created ink. All Epson ink come with born-on dating so find the ones with the most recent dates and make sure the whole batch is produced at around the same time to ensure color consistency. Plug them in and try it out. If the problem remains, you may need to bring the printer in for repairs.

Yeah, the ink smears appear to be black but they are really combinations of all the colors.

Cannon Pixma MP830 - smearing on front when printing

If you have taken it apart that far then you are way ahead of the game. My suggestion would be to clean the head or anything the ink touches in a vinegar/water solution. The vinegar dissolves any dried ink whereas the soap may actually gum things up. If that doesn't work or improve things I would say that your print head has a seal problem. The replacement print heads are worth more than a new printer so you can probably figure out whats cheaper to do.

Epson Stylus C86 smearing

Your printer has ink build up inside it. This comes from cleaning cartridges and builds-up steadily over time. Remove top cover. Wet a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol (available at drug stores) and clean the inside. use a cotton bud where the swab gets entangled.

Smeared lines

Okay, this was the problem I posted a few days ago. It's fixed now, so in case you have the same problem with smearing, here's what the help desk from Canon suggested: Open the cover and remove the ink cartridges. There is a gray lever in front of the cartridges. Lift this lever and the printhead can be easily removed.
Our printhead had a buildup of black ink on the surface. I carefully removed this with rubbing alcohol. I let the printhead dry and replaced everything. No more smearing. Imagine a help-desk that actually helped!

Prints roller smear marks

Laser printers do not use Ink. The problem is most likely a defect on the drum, which in this model printer, is part of the toner cartridge. Replace the black toner cartridge with a known good one and test.

Black smear of ink at end of lines

Please load the printer with at least 10 sheets of plain paper then press the start button. This will dry or clean any ink found on the rollers.
Continue to run blank pages through the printer until no more ink is found on the paper, then attempt printing. If ink stains, streaks or smudges are still present, the printer may need service.
