Canon MultiPASS MP390 All-In-One InkJet Printer Questions & Answers
I changed the cartridge but now it only prints with yellow color
it will need the heads cleaning. if you do not have the disk for it with maintenance on then you can do it this way. open control pannel/open printers and fax's/look for your printer model in next window/ now RIGHT click on your model and go down to "properties" and click that open ...you will find "head clean " in there . you might have to do this a few times so keep turning 1 sheet of paper around to print test page. if it wont clean them you will have to get inside with cotton buds and aftershave ( for the alcohol content) and clean them by hand. ( ink dry's up after standing and this causes it not to print )

With the machine powered on. Just lift up on the entire top portion on the platen unit, lower the front verticle cover and the printhead should come to the correct position to change out the ink tanks, just tilt tanks towards the front of the unit and lift out.
Printer not responding to the computer
I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.
I change the cartridge but it stills display put in cartridge
Hold down the power button. Let the printer shut off. Turn it back on. From Windows Start button, go to Control Panel - Printers & Faxes; right-click on Canon MP390, click on Printing Preferences, open the tab for Maintenance, click Quiet Mode and choose Always Use Quiet Mode. When the error recurs, cancel all pending print jobs: double-click on the printer icon in the tool bar (bottom right corner of monitor) to open the Print Queue, click on the jobs, then press the Delete button on the keypad. After all pending jobs are deleted, power down the printer by holding down its On/Off button. After 2+ minutes, turn it back on & try again. Depending on how frequently you use the printer, you may find it's time for a replacement.
