Canon PIXMA MP620 All-In-One InkJet Printer Logo

MP620 print-outs are skewed.

My MP620 is producing copies and printed documents that are skewed about 20 degrees to the right. The paper is feeding fine, so the problem must be with some other internal part that is misaligned. I called customer support and the person had never heard of this problem. Any advice?

SOURCE: not feeding

If your printer doesn't feed with normal printing try a manual line feed. If the print cartridge is moving then there is either a paper jam or check to see if anything has fallen into the paper feed roller. Here's the roller cleaning procedure from Canon for your mode. Please let me know if you still need help after cleaning the rollersl:
Paper Feed Roller is dirty.
You may need to clean the Paper Feed Rollers of the Auto Sheet Feeder. Follow the procedure below.
Cleaning the Paper Feed Roller of the Auto Sheet Feeder consumes it, so perform this procedure only when necessary.
Three sheets of A4 or Letter paper are required for the cleaning. Have them on hand.

(1) Make sure that the printer is turned on, and then remove any paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder.
(2) Open the Printer Properties dialog box.
See Opening the Printer Properties Dialog Box Directly from the Start Menu.
(3) Click the Maintenance tab, then Roller Cleaning.
(4) The confirmation message is displayed. Follow the instruction on the screen.

(1) Make sure that the printer is turned on, and then remove any paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder.
(2) Open the Canon IJ Printer Utility dialog box.
See Opening the Canon IJ Printer Utility (Macintosh).
(3) Make sure that Cleaning is selected in the pop-up menu.
(4) Click Roller Cleaning.
(5) The confirmation message is displayed. Follow the instruction on the screen.
If this procedure does not solve the problem, clean the surface of the roller with applying a slightly moisten cotton swab with water to wipe off dust or stain. If the problem still persists, contact a Canon service representative.

Sounds like the roller(s) on the left side is missing or is slick (or split). You should have returned it to the place of purchase when you discovered the problem.

SOURCE: Can't print business cards. Won't feed from rear tray.

I just spend over an hour on the phone with Canon for the same problem... the resolution is simple. From the Control Panel, select Printers & Faxes. Right-click the mp620 printer, and select Properties. Select Printing Preferences from the bottom of the General tab, then click the Page Setup tab. Choose Print Options at the bottom. Place a check mark in the box next to "Disable the paper source setting of the application software." Click OK 3 times and the problem should be solved.

Common HP Printing Problems And How To Resolve Them?

There are a few common HP printer Problems:
1. Streaks through printing - Clean printhead using windex and alcohol swabs.
Run a "clean printhead cycle"
2. Paper jams: Check all paper paths using a flashlight. Remove rear cover or duplexer to get more access. Even a tiny piece of a paper or another object can disrupt the printer functionality.
3. Skewed printing -
Check for the duplex unit or paper path to be fully inserted on both sides. If skewed printing only appears when making a copy, the scanner lamp is misplaced or out of rail.
Paper will not feed.
Try cleaning the paper pick up roller with some cleaning solution or alcohol swabs. Usually does the trick!
Good luck! HP is a good printer.

Can i make copies witht he brother hp 2040 printer

A printer would produce print outs of documents in versions known as hardcopies(paper). However, multifucntion devices usually would have an area on the printer that allows to feed in an aready printered document to be reproduced several times into several hardcopies(paper copies). Unless that, the printer has multifunction capabilities, in which instance would be in writing specified as capable of performing printing, copying and several feature functions, it would be unlikely to perform copies from an already existing document.

Printer is saying manual feed insert paper. Will not print

To load paper or other media in the Manual Feed Slot (directly above the Paper Tray)

You can load envelopes and special print media one at a time into this slot. Use the manual feed slot to print or copy on labels, envelopes or thicker paper.

1. Slide the paper guides to fit the paper size.
2. Using both hands put one sheet of paper in the manual feed slot until you feel the front edge of the paper touch the paper feed roller. Let go of the paper when you feel the machine feed the paper in a short distance.

d92e310.jpg

Note: When you put paper in the manual feed slot, please remember the following:
■ The side to be printed on must be face up.
■ Put the leading edge (top of the paper) in first and push it gently into the slot.
■ Make sure that the paper is straight and in the proper position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
■ Do not put more than one sheet or envelope in the manual feed slot at a time or you may cause the machine to jam.
■ You can remove smaller sizes of printed paper from the output paper tray more easily if you lift the scanner cover using both hands as shown in the illustration.

You can still use the machine when the scanner cover is raised. You can return the scanner cover to its home position by pushing it down with both hands.

If you would like to disable Manual Feed Mode, check that the manual feed mode is not selected in the printer driver.

Here is a copy of the User's Manual for the Brother MFC-7820N.

Double printing on pixma mp470

Double printing or double feed??. Double printing means document printed in 2 copies. Double feed means printer feed double paper in one moment. For double printing, please check number of copy of document in printing preference properties.
Double feed occurs when pickup roller fails to pick the paper correctly. It's usually caused by shaft of paper pick up roller which is broken. You should replace drive assembly (include pick up roller) in this case

MP830, how to retrieve faxes in memory to my PC

-

- A margin appears
on printouts.
2 B Paper feed
Improper paper
feeding:
- Multi-feeding
- Skewed paper
feeding
- Paper jam
- Paper feeding from the
ASF
- Plain paper
- Highest print speed
(Custom setting to 5)
- In the high temperature
and high humidity
environment
- In the low temperature
and low humidity
environment
- With the maximum
amount of paper set (13
mm)
In the high temperature
and high humidity
environment, paper
becomes wavy; in the
low temperature and
low humidity
environment, paper
curls significantly.
When the maximum
amount of paper is set
in the ASF, and if the
paper-return tab fits in a
wave or curl of the
paper, the tab slips and
does not catch paper
properly, causing paper
feed problems.
- Reduce the amount of
paper set in the ASF to
half (approx. 5 mm
high).
- Multiple sheets of
paper feed at the
same time.
- Paper feeds at an
angle.
- A paper jam
occurs.
3 C Print results
Skewed paper
feeding (at the
level of +/- 1%)
- Paper feeding from the
ASF
- Credit Card size
Since coaxial tolerance
between the pinch roller
and the LF roller, which
determines the paper
feed alignment, is
0.2mm, skewed paper
feeding can occur.
However, according to
the field data of current
models, the skewness
level caused by the
coaxial tolerance of
0.2mm is within the
criteria of +/- 1%, thus
the phenomenon is left
as is.
- Align the paper guide to
the paper edge tighter
than usual.
- Paper feeds at an
angle.
- A margin appears
on printouts.
4 A Print results
Soiling on the
back side of paper
(lines or streaks
parallel to the
paper feed
direction)
- After continuous
borderless printing of
small sized paper (such
as 4 x 6), when a larger
sized paper (such as A4)
is printed.
- With Photo Paper Plus
Double Sided or
postcards, the
phenomenon is likely to
be noticeable and to be
complained of by users,
as printing is performed
on both sides of such
paper.
In borderless printing,
printing is performed to
the size slightly larger
than the paper size, and
ink off the paper is
absorbed by the platen's
ink absorber. Absorbed
ink may attach to the
platen rib(s) after
several dozen sheets are
printed, causing soiling
at the leading edge of
paper or on the back
side of paper.
1. Perform Bottom plate
cleaning (from the
MP driver or via the
operation panel) up to
3 times*1.
2. If soiling on the paper
still remains after 3
times of Bottom plate
cleaning, wipe the
platen rib(s) and their
surroundings with a
cotton swab.
- Paper gets
smeared.
- The back side of
paper gets
smeared.
Soiling on paper in
automatic duplex
printing (lines or
streaks
perpendicular to
the paper feed
direction)
- Automatic duplex
printing (Photo Paper
Plus Double Sided,
postcards, plain paper)
On the rib(s) inside the
sheet feed unit used for
duplex printing, ink
mist may accumulate,
smearing paper.
Temporary operational
solution:
Cancel automatic duplex
printing, and manually
print each side of paper.
Cleaning by user:
1. Perform Bottom plate
cleaning (from the
MP driver or via the
operation panel) up to
3 times*1.
- Paper gets
smeared.
- The back side of
paper gets
smeared.
- Even after Bottom
plate cleaning
was performed,
and the platen
ribs were cleaned
with cotton swab,
paper gets
smeared.

HP PSC 2355 All-in-One Operating Problem

Introduction When the all-in-one detects a paper jam, the display will read, " Paper jam: Press OK to continue ." The computer might display the following message: " There is a paper jam (or misfeed). Clear the jam and press the Enter, Resume or OK button on the HP PSC. " This document will assist in correcting paper feed problems such as paper jamming, print slanting, and multiple pages feeding into the all-in-one. Clearing paper jams CAUTION: All paper jams must be removed from the back of the all-in-one through the rear access door. Pulling the paper from the front of the unit rotates the paper feed roller in the wrong direction and can cause damage to the all-in-one.
  1. Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord.
  2. Turn the all-in-one around so the back of the unit is facing out.
  3. Open the rear access door:
    1. Locate the tab on the left side of the door and press it toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    2. As the door shifts to the right, pull the door out slightly to release.
    3. When the door is released, gently remove the door by sliding the door out and to the left.
Figure 1: Removing the rear access door c00212276.jpg
  4. Inspect the pressure rollers on the access door. They should be clean and rotate easily. If needed, clean the rollers with a soft lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilled water preferred). If the rollers do not rotate easily, they may need to be replaced.
  5. From the access door opening, gently remove the jammed paper.
  6. Remove the paper stack from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper damaged or bent.
  7. Re-stack the reload the paper into the paper supply tray. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.
  8. Re-seat the rear access door:
    1. Insert the two posts on the right of the door into the holes on the right side of the opening (as shown in the figure below).
    2. Press the tab on the left side of the door toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    3. As the door shifts to the right, push in the left side of the door to lock it into position.
Figure 2: Rear access door posts c00212277.jpg
  9. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the unit.
Causes of recurring paper feed problems If paper feed problems occur repeatedly, one of the following might be the cause:
  • Something is obstructing the paper or print cartridge path. Open the cover of the all-in-one and check for obstructions.
  • The rear access door is unlocked or improperly seated. Follow the steps above to remove and re-seat the access door.
  • The paper width guide is not positioned against the paper. Adjust the paper width guide against the edge of the paper.
  • The paper is not supported. Paper should be flat and smooth with no folded, torn, or rough edges. Some glossy and/or coated papers, or reused paper (already printed on one side) can experience a higher incident of paper feed issues.
  • The paper tray is not fully extended.
  • The paper feed rollers need cleaning. Over time paper fibers and dust will stick to the rollers and should be removed. See instructions for cleaning the rollers below.
Paper jam message displays but no paper is jammed The print carriage might be jammed. Follow these steps to correct the problem:
  1. With the power on, lift the print cartridge access door. The print carriage should move to the access area located on the right. If the print carriage stays all the way left, reset the unit by unplugging the then plugging in the power cord. If the carriage still does not move to the right, continue with the steps below.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
  3. Remove both print cartridges.
  4. Push the print carriage slightly to the left and then to the right to verify that the print carriage is not jammed. If the print carriage will not move, check for obstructions under and around the carriage.
  5. Close the print cartridge access door.
  6. Plug in the power cord.
  7. When the " Insert Print Cartridges " message displays, open the print cartridge access door and insert the print cartridges. Verify that both cartridges are seated correctly and lock into position.
  8. If the error recurs, contact HP for assistance.
Envelopes The envelope flap can move with the grip of the rollers and cause paper feed problems. Use envelopes with a rectangular flap and/or tuck the flap inside the envelope when printing. The print is skewed or crooked A small amount of skewing is not unusual with printers. When there is too much skewing, the following steps can help reduce the amount.
  1. Adjust the paper width guide to fit against the edges of the paper stack.
  2. Verify that the rear access door is properly seated and locked into position.
  3. Remove the rear access door and clean the paper feed rollers (see the instructions at the bottom of this document).
More than one sheet of paper feeds in at the same time Several paper caused problems can result in more than one page feeding into the unit. Check the list below:
  • Reused paper (paper already printed on one side)
  • Torn or folded paper
  • Textured or coated paper
  • Unsupported specialty paper
To determine if the paper is causing problems, try using clean, undamaged sheets of plain white 70 - 90 g/m2 (20 - 24 pound) inkjet paper, such as HP Multipurpose or Bright White paper. If this paper feeds correctly, the problem is probably with the other paper. Cleaning the paper feed rollers Over time dust and paper fibers will accumulate on the paper feed rollers. This can cause paper feed problems. Follow the steps below to clean the rollers: Figure 3: Paper feed rollers c00212278.jpg
  1. Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord.
  2. Remove the rear access door (as describe above in this document).
  3. Clean each roller using a clean lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilled water preferred). Rotate the rollers to clean the entire surface.
  4. Verify that the paper feed rollers on the rear access door are clean and rotate easily.
  5. Re-seat the rear access door.
  6. Plug in the power cord and turn on the all-in-one.
