Can't print business cards. Won't feed from rear tray.

I'm trying to print business cards on my canon mp620. I go into preferences and have it load from rear tray but it always goes back to feeding paper from the cassette. If I load the cassette with business card paper, it has trouble feeding it.
Thanks for any help.

I just spend over an hour on the phone with Canon for the same problem... the resolution is simple. From the Control Panel, select Printers & Faxes. Right-click the mp620 printer, and select Properties. Select Printing Preferences from the bottom of the General tab, then click the Page Setup tab. Choose Print Options at the bottom. Place a check mark in the box next to "Disable the paper source setting of the application software." Click OK 3 times and the problem should be solved.

This solution worked for the iP4700 printer also. I was trying to print labels from the rear tray but the printer kept going to the cassette. The menus are slightly different but eventually you get to the same check box. Thanks.

It could be several issues - although commonly when a printer moves from it's default tray it's due to a paper size conflict. The form you are trying to print may be a legal size form (8.5x14) or a a non US standard such as A3. Regardless, if the size is different than what's loaded in your main paper tray it will move to the secondary tray or to the MPF (Manual Paper Feed) tray looking for the appropriate size.

If you don't have the appropriate paper, you should be able to enter your printer properties and adjust the settings to scale the document to fit to page.

Loud clicking noise when attempting to print

Try removing the ink catridges and checking them for any damage like leaking ink. Then replace them and try to print. Also, make sure there is nothing stuck in the paper feeding tray.

Keep reading have no paper yet when I add paper it still say to load paper. Also there is a clunking sound that has developed lately.

PIXMA MP620 has 2-way paper feeding. Check your proper paper feeding. Rear feed or bottom cassette paper feed.

Starts to feed paper and then stops and says it is jammed, it's not.

We have become aware of an incompatibility between the ZoomAlbum software and the Canon PIXMA printers listed below. This issue applies only when using the ZoomAlbum software to print Photo Album covers with Mac OS X.
Affected Models
PIXMA MP240, MP250, MP480, MP490, MP560, MP620, MP640, MP980, MP990, MX320, MX330, MX860, iP3600, iP4600, iP4700 Printers
Phenomenon
The affected PIXMA printers are designed to feed paper via the rear tray with a center-feed mechanism and two paper guides. However, the ZoomAlbum software was intended to feed paper from the rear tray in printers with a right-feed mechanism and a single paper guide. As a result, when using the ZoomAlbum software with Mac OS X to print Photo Album covers with the affected Canon PIXMA printers, the printed image may shift.

To remedy this problem, please use the following settings when printing Photo Album covers with Mac OS X:
1. Click System Preferences
2. Click Print & Fax
3. Select your Canon PIXMA printer as the default printer
4. Select DL Envelope for Default Paper Size in Page Setup
Note: Be sure to change the Default Paper Size back to Letter after printing the cover.

Problem with printing business cards with HP Lasterjet 1320

If the cards are getting stuck in your printer, you first need to make sure the cards are rated for laserjet. If they are, then many times the cards don't like going through the curves of the machine. I would set them to feed from the tray on the front, which should be tray 1, and I would select them to eject out the rear of the printer, which you should be able to accomplish through the print drivers depending on what software you are using to print them.

Please let me know if you would like further assistance with this matter. Thank you.

    Load mpf paper

Your printer is set to default to the Main Paper Feeder, which is probably set for letter size paper. You must tell it to feed cards. On your Windows Desktop, left click mouse on START. left click on CONTROL PANEL, and left click on the PRINTERS icon. On the PRINTERS screen, RIGHT CLICK on your Dell printer icon. On the drop down menu, left click on PRINTING PREFERENCES. On the PRINTING PREFERENCES window, left click on the PAPER/QUALITY tab. Under TRAY SELECTION, choose the PAPER SOURCE where you want your business cards to feed from. Left click on APPLY button. Next, left click on the ADVANCED button. On the ADVANCED OPTIONS window, use the drop-down box next to PAPER SIZE to choose the paper size you want to feed. Press OK button. The PRINTING PREFERENCES window will now reappear. Left click APPLY, then OK buttons. After you have printed your cards, be sure to restore the printer defaults back to their original state, or the printer may jam because it must be programmed for the paper size being used. If you reload letter paper without resetting the paper size, the printer will think there is still card sized paper in the tray, and it will issue a jam or error code until the paper size is set properly.
