Canon inkjet printer class action suit
Canon USA Inc Consumer Class Action and
"...at least 16 different Canon printer models have been identified that display an error message of "U052: Wrong Printhead Error," after limited use. This error indicates that the printer does not recognize the printhead, or that the printhead itself is faulty, but disables all functions of the printer, including scanning and facsimile capabilities, rendering the printer unsuitable for its intended purpose and use."

Error U052 = Please check that print head contact pins of the carriage are not bent.
Or else you may need to replace
- Print head
- Carriage Unit.

A lot of Canon printer's users come across with the error message, "U052 This type of print head is incorrect." It is a very common error on Canon printers and is fairly easy to troubleshoot.
There are two different scenarios related to U052 kind of error message.One is where the print head is not installed at all and then it is giving the 'U052 This type of print head is incorrect' error message.
And, the second scenario is where the print head is installed nut it is not functioning properly or probably not working at all. The below section will show step by step troubleshooting of both the scenarios.
