If I had to guess, I would say that you are using non-HP paper. If you are making this paper adjustment in photoshop, DON'T... Make the adjustment at the time of printing in the printer driver itself under paper and quality.
You need to set the paper type in the printer settings before printing
start -> control panel -> printers -> right click on your priter and select properties. there you will find the settings, look around there is a page on paper settings.
try changeing those and print again. (select photo paper)
You need to specify the paper type when the print dialog box appears.
Heavy glossy paper needs to spend more time in the fuser so that the
toner is fixed.
I'm not clear on your problem but you can try this<a href="http://www.richardsnotes.org/archives/2006/05/17/canon-i9900-printer-problem-and-solution/" >Link for simular problems.</a> You may find the solution there.
You have to match your print settings with the correct type of media used !
When you print, set the preferences, set to PHOTO quality and not draft, set paper type to PHOTO PAPER, or GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER whichever - If you select wrong media type your colors might be off. Select the settings that match the closest to your media. If you use paper use "plain paper" setting, if you use glossy photo paper, use "glossy photo paper" as settings and PHOTO quality.
I recommend use you use inkjet PHOTO paper, glossy, you can use HP or EPSON or even the cheap LIKON ones work amazing for me, they should be able to dry quickly, if they don't you are not using the correct settings.
By your description above it looks like you are using economy or draft mode - NOT good for photo paper.
Double Check Weather Or Not ALL Of The Packaging Tape Is Off The Ink Carts. Sometimes WE Over Look The Lil Tape Sometimes Blue, Green, OR Black. Make Sure Your Settings Are Accurate, As Far As Quality Of Print (normal-to-best). Check And See If You Paper Type Is Correct (Photo, Plain, Postcard...Etc. Only Thing That I Can Think Of? Hope It Helps!!!
The print driver might not be sending the correct color profile for photo paper. Check that your selection of the paper type "sticks", that is, that it doesn't revert to plain paper when you click on the print button.
If the print dialog is not working properly, then please get in touch with Canon's tech support to resolve this.
Issue
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow.
Solution
This
issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the
colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the
unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.
Follow
the steps below to temporarily change the Automatic Paper Type setting
from within the application that you are printing from.
Click
File
, then
Print
or
Print Setup
.
Select the appropriate all-in-one from the drop-down list and click
Properties
.
Click the
Paper/Quality
tab and under
Type is:
select
Plain Paper
.
Changes
made within the application might not be permanent and the setting will
default back to Automatic after closing the application. The setting
will have to be changed each time colored paper is used in the
all-in-one.
Follow the steps below to change the default Automatic Paper Type setting to plain paper.
NOTE:
By
following the steps below, the default Automatic Paper Type setting
will be changed to Plain Paper. In order to use a different paper type
in the all-in-one (e.g., photo paper), the setting will have to be
temporarily changed to reflect the new paper type.
Click
Start
, point to
Settings
, and then click
Control Panel
.
Double-click
Printers and Faxes
.
Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click
Printing Preferences
.
Click the
Paper/Quality
tab and under
Type is:
select
Plain Paper
.
This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
