try and reset your printer,unplug the power cord and wait 10 min, then plug back in,understand that Canon has installed a chip so you cannot use refilled cartridges,or cartridges you refill,if this doesn't work,then contact Canon,and you could get the same message I got take it in to be repaired, (to costly), so I end up buying a new one,,

Canon recommend only original cartridge,if you refill the cartridge quality is poor and the printer to give you error.If a have been useful please give me a vote :).Thanks

That error means that an ink cartridge is empty. To cancel printing, press the Stop/Reset button. To continue printing, press the OK button. After the printing finishes, replace the empty ink cartridge. Printing with an empty ink cartridge may cause machine malfunction.

Welcome to the world of Canon. Simply put, the PG-210 CL-211 cartridges have what I like to call "digital fuses" built in. One fuse for "new" and one for "empty". When you install a new Canon cartridge both "digital fuses" are intact. The "new" fuse tells the printer that it is a new genuine Canon cartridge and resets the page counter internal to the printer. With the page counter reset, the printer "blows" the "digital fuse" and that cartridge enters the used state. When the page counter on the printer believes the cartridge to be completely empty it will "blow" the second "digital fuse" and the printer will from then on refuse to recognize it as a valid cartridge. Some claim to have ways around this, but Canon really has won this battle. My Cartridge World store does not refill these cartridges and does not recommend refilling them. Buying original Canon cartridges is what we recommend.

How I can reset my canon mp270,lamp B is lighting all the time. I have filled black ink and know my printer dont recognizes cartridge. My computer shows that it is empty.

Your printer thinks a cartridge is empty. If all your cartridges are full it means that the cartridge you bought either has a damaged chip (original Canon cartridge) or didn't have the chip reset on it (refilled cartridge). You need to either buy a new cartridge if one is empty or return the new one with a defective chip for a new one.

Problem is resetting the IC chip that they install that calculates that your cartridge is empty, Refilling it doesn't work because the chip tells the printer that it'S empty. No way to reset it yet.

I'm sorry you got that STUPID answer first. The Canon cartridges you use have a chip or small circuit board on the bottom front. You have to either reset that chip or get the reset chips from the place you get your ink. That little chip tells your printer how much ink has been used and once they are empty refilling doesn't help without a new or reset chip.

Most canons have a chip on the ink cartridge that tells the printer the ink is empty so unless you reset that chip (which you cannont do), that newly filled cartridge will always read empty. This is how some printer manufacturer's thwart people saving money by refilling their cartridges.
