I used my mp500 for almost a year, then it started jamming the paper from the top and bottom. It puts a nic in the bottom right corner of the paper if it does happen to feed through, but it jams 99% of the time. Gave up on this printer and use my old HP2100 through my wireless network. Husband doesn't appreciate me doing this. If anyone can solve this I'd like to hear.

To load the paper from the front you must press the Feed Switch located on the lower left side of the front panel. The green light indicates which feeder is being used.

There is a button to press to swap it from the back tray and the bottom tray. it sounds like you might have some thing stuck in the rear feeder causing the paper not to go through. i would try it from the bottom feeder and see if it works,

might be worth turning the machine off and unplug it and then try turning it upside down and shaking the machine, to see if anything come out of it.

If not i would say to take it apart or call a service engineer out.

Hope this helps

Inspect the rollers that take the paper in. If none of them appear out of place or damaged, it may be that they need cleaning. I've had some success cleaning printer rollers with methylated spirits, but any dust cleaner should work.

Which way do I insert the transparency into my front loading MP 560 Canon Printer.Shiny side up or down Thank you V

It depends on which side you want to print on. For transparencies, you want to print on one side only. Most likely, you want to print on the shiny side; essentially as if it were a glossy photo. Load the transparency so that the shiny side gets printed on. Don't know that part? Front loading printers are the easiest to determine which side is printed on. Look at where the paper goes in and where it comes out. Think about it; for single sided printing, the paper isn't being turned around inside; merely rolled around an internal roller, then back out. Watch what happens to the paper the next time you print on a single side. See if the top of the printed page came out first, or last.

The most common designs of front-loaders have the paper come out above where it went in. The paper curls around the bottom of the internal roller and comes right back out on top. Therefore, the printed side started out on the bottom, then curled around the internal roller and came out with the printed side up.

Most front loading printers have the top of the printed page come out first; therefore, the same edge that went in first, got printed on first. With that in mind, if you ever want to print on the unprinted side of a piece of paper (that is already out of the printer), obviously keep the printed side up, but since the top of the printed side came out first, you need to make sure the top goes in first to come out first for the back side.

Your Canon 560 printer has duplex printing, so it is a good idea to run your test to see what happens when printed on a single side, and what happens if you use the duplex-mode. For duplex mode printing, after printing on one side, the printer pulls the paper back in to print the other side automatically. Think about how much space is inside the printer. Depending on how much data the printer can store, either the first page is printed, then the second page, or the second page is printed first, then the first page. It depends on how the printer wants the page to come out. You can run a simple test and see exactly what happens.

Since the printer cannot easily turn the paper around, it merely starts with the opposite end of the first printed side when it prints on the back. If the top of the page came out first for the first printed side, the printer prints the bottom lines of the second page of text working back to the top in reverse order. As a result, the bottom of the page comes out first, with the top coming out last.

Some duplex printers can store so much data that the determine how the second page will look, print it first, then print the first page. Watch to see what yours does.

Worse comes to worse, mark a sheet of paper in one corner, insert it into the printer, then print a document that contains only the period character and see where it is printed. By knowing how you put the paper in, and where the period was printed, you can tell how to handle any situation. By the way, the period character was chosen because it will be so small that most likely you can use that sheet again.

    Photo Paper keeps jamming

It's the top rollers, the paper is too slick to get through them. I'm using HP photo paper, in an HP printer. It needs to do a 180, but gets jammed right where it prints, so the paper never makes it to the ink. It's an engineering problem by HP. I suggest putting a rough surface on the top edge of the photo paper, something removable but rough enough for the printer to pull the photo paper through.

Saying paper jam dcp-135c brother printer

Hello there,If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed: Press the power button to turn the printer off.
Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
    Close the front cover.
Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
    Resend your document to print.

    Ensure that:
The paper is a recommended paper for Laser printers.
You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
The printer is on a flat, level surface.
The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.

But it's NOT out of paper!

Try loading only using a few sheets of paper. When you start up the print cycle you should hear the printer begian to make noise. Than it should pull a single sheet in. If you hear nothing. It may be bad.
