I have a dc 14 all floors and the button has sunken in. when you plug it in it automatically starts and the power button doesnt work at all. i tried to take it apart except i dont know how to get under the power button. the button is clear so i can see through it and the switch looks fine. any ideas?

Take it back - the power on switch button sounds like its being tempramental and it shouldn't do that. It would have to be repaired.

Most likely you need to replace the clutch assembly. This video will show you how to replace it.

The brush will only spin when the machine is reclined. Not when the machine is stood upright.
If the brush doesn't turn when the machine is reclined, and the brush control set to "auto", you have a brush bar and/or belt problem.
