Hi

This is a problem with the Pickup roller.

Try to inspect the paper pickup roller, on the right side of the roller you can find a small notch which gets coupled with the shaft it will be broken. You have to replace the roller.

How to replace pickup rollers

This should help. Good luck !

Cassette (Tray 2) paper pickup and feed rollers

To remove the paper pickup and feed rollers

1 Remove the cassette.

2 Locate the two rollers on the bottom of the paper pickup unit (above the cassette). The pickup

roller is the smaller roller, and the feed roller is the larger roller.

3 Pinch the tab on the end of the cassette pickup roller (callout 1), and pull the roller out.

4 Pinch the tab on the end of the cassette feed roller (callout 2), and pull the roller out.

Figure 6-24 Removing the cassette pickup and feed rollers

Note Always replace the cassette pickup roller and the cassette feed rollers at the same time. Also replace
the separation roller (located in the paper cassette) when replacing these rollers

Hp laserjet p3005dn printer taking 3 papers

Your problem description is not clear, but based on experience I bet that your printer is taking three sheets of paper at a time. The pickup roller in tray 2 and the separation pad in the tray are probably worn out. They are easy enough to replace. You can verify that printer works properly by printing from manual feed tray and if that works ok then above solution is likely your fix.

No paper pickup from tray 1 or tray 2

Pickup roller is likely worn out. If you look right where the paper would feed into it, there'll be a cylindrical shapped roller with maybe a flat side on it. If its glazed and shiny, it needs to be replaced. You can kind of scuff it up with something like a scotch or Brillo pad that you would scrub a kitchen pot with and it might work a little longer. Otherwise, you can just buy a new roller, they're not too expensive

HP P3015N tray two paper pickup issue

Issue is worn out feed rollers. There are three. One in the tray itself and two after you remove the tray. Look up into the printer from where you removed the tray and replace those two rollers

When printing, the paper in the tray does not feed. It lifts but doesn't catch.

The printer's pickup roller needs to be cleaned or if its worned needs to be replaced. The pickup roller is the little blue rubber roller behind the cartridge. If it still doesn't catch you'll need to strip the machine down until you get to the springs that lifts the papertray. Stretch the springs a bit. This will cause the paper to be pressed against the pickup roller. Re-assemble the machine and try it.

13.2 paper jam/open tray error, but its not. It doesn't make the right sounds when initialising, no motor running.

Hello There,

After working with HP for quite sometime,

here is what i recoimmend.

1.Ensure that paper trays are loaded properly, so that paper can feed from the tray
2.Check the input area for obstructions, such as paper in the path or visible damage to the paper path near Tray 1.
3.Remove the print cartridge and lift the green handle attached to the metal plate underneath to check for paper in the paper path.
NOTE: Try swapping the tray and print cartridge with one from different printer, same model. Determine if issue follows the tray or the print cartridge.
4.Ensure that paper is feeding correctly from the appropriate tray (try using a freshly opened **** of paper).
a.Inspect the pickup assembly by removing the paper tray in question to look inside the printer.
b.Locate the rubber roller with a purple, plastic hub (paper feed roller).
c.Locate the paper pickup assembly that is directly behind the paper feed roller. The paper pickup assembly consists of a shaft with four half-moon shaped rubber and white plastic rollers attached to it.
d.Rotate the shaft to locate the half-moon rollers and ensure that it turns easily.
e.Locate the black plastic coupler shaped like a dog bone that is immediately to the right of the shaft .
f.If either the pickup assembly or the coupler is missing or damaged, the printer will need to be serviced.
5.Do not fan paper to separate, bend the **** into a U shape to break the sheets free from one another.

NOTE: If the steps listed in this document do not return the printer to a READY state, service may be required. Contact the HP Customer Care Center for more information
Please feel free to leave a testimonial if this works and please do not forget to click 4 thumbs.

Cheers!

I have a hp laserjet 4250 printer it had a paper jam in tray 2 i have cleared the jam but it keeps saying i still have the jam in tray 2

There is still paper stuck in the printer. try lifting the printer off of tray 2 to inspect it or here it is straight from the service manual...

Jams in tray 2

Table 7-10 Causes of tray 2 jams

Cause Solution

The feed or separation rollers are dirty, worn, or damaged. Clean the rollers. If they are dirty after cleaning, or if they are

worn or damaged, replace the rollers.

The pickup roller is worn or damaged. Replace the pickup roller.

The tray 2 paper pickup assembly drive gears are damaged

or the assembly is defective.

Check the drive gears in the paper pickup drive assembly.

Replace the pickup drive assembly if the gears are

damaged. See Paper-pickup drive assembly.

The tray 2 pickup solenoid (SL101) is damaged. 1 Disconnect the connector for the tray pickup solenoid

from the dc controller PCA (location J92).

2 Measure the resistance between the cable connectors.

3 If the measured resistance is not approximately

160 ohms for the HP LaserJet 4200/4300, or 110 ohms

for the HP LaserJet 4250/4350, replace the tray 2

pickup solenoid.

The tray 2 lifter-drive assembly or the stack position

sensor (PS107) is defective.

Replace the lifter-drive assembly. See Tray 2 lifter-drive

assembly and/or Printer switches and sensors.

The dc controller PCA is defective. Replace the dc controller PCA. See Dc controller PCA.

Dirty, worn, or deformed pick-up roller, cassette separation

roller, and cassette feed roller.

Clean the rollers if they are dirty. Replace any worn or

deformed rollers. The cassette separation roller and the

cassette feed rollare are to be replaced together.

Damaged gears in the cassette pick-up drive unit. Move the gears in the cassette pick up drive unit. If the

gears are not rotating correctly, or are damaged or worn,
replace the cassette pick-up drive unit.

Printer not picking up paper from paper tray

1). take all the paper out of the paper tray.
2). look at the printer pickup roller while you enable the printer to print a test page.
3). if the roller is not turning, and hear click sound, then you need to take the printer to be service. The gear that runs the pickup roller is broken.
4). if the pickup roller truns, but you still hear the click sound, then most likely the secondary roller gear is broken. You still need to bring it to be repair.

call the repair shop and find out how much it cost and how long, It is cheaper to get a new printer than to have it fixed.

My printer hp laser jet 1320 not picking the paper from the tray.

Can you hear if the roller mechanism is kicking in? If you hear the roller moving but the paper is not even starting up the path, it's probably a worn pickup roller. If the solenoid is firing but the roller isn't turning then the feed roller shafts clutch mech is probably worn/broken and needs replaced.
