Cassette (Tray 2) paper pickup and feed rollers

To remove the paper pickup and feed rollers

1 Remove the cassette.

2 Locate the two rollers on the bottom of the paper pickup unit (above the cassette). The pickup

roller is the smaller roller, and the feed roller is the larger roller.

3 Pinch the tab on the end of the cassette pickup roller (callout 1), and pull the roller out.

4 Pinch the tab on the end of the cassette feed roller (callout 2), and pull the roller out.

Note Always replace the cassette pickup roller and the cassette feed rollers at the same time. Also replace

How to replace the adf pickup/roller assembly on a Brother MFC-L8900cdw? Mine is starting to pull 2-3 sheets of paper at a time

To replace the ADF pickup/roller assembly on a Brother MFC-L8900cdw printer, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Open the automatic document feeder (ADF) cover and remove any paper from the feeder.
  3. Locate the ADF pickup/roller assembly. It is located underneath the ADF cover and consists of a set of rollers that are used to feed paper into the printer.
  4. Use a small screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the ADF pickup/roller assembly in place.
  5. Carefully lift the ADF pickup/roller assembly out of the printer.
  6. Install the new ADF pickup/roller assembly by aligning it with the mounting holes and securing it in place with the screws.
  7. Close the ADF cover and plug the printer back in.
  8. Turn the printer on and test the ADF to make sure it is functioning properly.
If you are having difficulty replacing the ADF pickup/roller assembly or if the problem persists after replacing it, it may be necessary to have the printer serviced by a professional. A technician will be able to diagnose the problem and determine the necessary repairs.

Got a new part. don't know how to install it

I assume you either have recieved the separation pad or the paperpick roller. Here are instructions on how to replace both.

Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.

Rollers are leaving black smudges on my checks

Are you positive that this is a 'roller' problem.  Black smudges usually indicate a drum problem (your toner cartridge).  If you pull it out, you'll see a flap that should move back and forth.  If you move that flap, you'll see a shiny cylendar.  That's the drum.  See if you can see any marks on it (don't touch it with your hands.)

The problem is, it's hard to tell whether or not it's the drum just by looking.  Your best bet is to see if replacing the cartridge takes care of the problem.
