Trying to print to bizhub c252 from Intel mac ox 10.5.2.  Error is Attempting to connect to host KMBT57303B.local. for printer print. Will retry in 30 seconds.

Downloaded new print driver.  Connected directly to Bizhub. Bypassed network.

Look for the authorisation option within the printers features, and also look for the menu within the driver to setup the bi-directional communication. This is where you input the IP address of the MFP.

Have you tried using the AppleTalk option to connect to the printer?
OS10.5.2 has totally redone the security/communication protocol. It is having trouble with the bi-directional communication. Trying a different network method may resolve this.

KM has launched their NEW help desk website:
http://help.bt.konicaminolta.ca/

They are pretty good with this type of stuff, but be aware that APPLE has jumped the gun releasing the latest version before allowing vendors to test it.
Fiery is still trying to get their dirvers compatible and they are a MAJOR industry standard.

Printer has worked fine for years with my pc's. Still prints the test page fine but wont' print since I switched to mac. Installed the print only file from hp website a couple times. Actually it does...

It sounds like the driver provided by the manufacturer may have a glitch in it. I would recommend sharing the printer to the MAC:

Add the Shared Printer to Your Mac Launch System Preferences by clicking its icon in the Dock.

Click the ‘Print & Fax’ icon in the System Preferences window.

The Print & Fax window will display a list of currently configured printers and faxes that your Mac can use.

Click the plus (+) sign, located just below the list of installed printers.

The printer browser window will appear.

Click the ‘Windows’ toolbar icon.

Click the workgroup name in the first column of the three-pane printer browser window.

Click the computer name of the Windows machine that has the shared printer connected to it.

You may be asked to enter a user name and password for the computer you selected in the step above.

Select the printer you configured for sharing from the list of printers in the third column of the three-pane window.

From the Print Using dropdown menu, select the driver that the printer needs. The Generic PostScript Printer driver will work for almost all PostScript printers, but if you have a specific driver for the printer, click ‘Select a driver to use’ in the dropdown menu, and select the driver.

Click the ‘Add’ button.

Use the Default Printer dropdown menu to set the printer you want to use most often. The Print & Fax preferences pane tends to set the most recently added printer as the default, but you can easily change that by selecting a different printer.

I'm using Mac OS 10.5.6 and the Kyocera KM-3035 prints my documents with missing letters, words, sometimes whole paragraphs. I've uninstalled and re-installed the driver to no avail. What else can I do?

use the generic print driver in mac and tune it with this tutorial also set the press printer on the copier and set emulation to kpdl auto... also see if you can make the driver spool...

if that doesn't work... then try moving a zipped 10 mb file from one pc to another on your network... make sure one pc or laptop is connected where your copier is... if you open the zipped file and its corrupted... then the problem isn't your copier... its your network...

I need to install HP deskjet 6940 on my Powerbook G4. I am operating on MAX OSX 10.4.6

If your printer does not appear in the Printer pop-up menu, find and install the appropriate driver. Check any CD-ROM discs included with the printer, or the website of your printer's manufacturer. Only users with an administrator account can install software.

Tip: You can also open the Printer List window from Printer Center (Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier) or the Printer Setup Utility (Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, or later).

Check the Printer menu again after installing the software. If the printer does not appear, you may need to do this:
  1. Make sure the printer is connected to your computer, plugged in, and turned on.
  2. For Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier, from the Printer menu in the print dialog choose Edit Printer List. The Printer List window appears.
  3. For Mac OS X 10.3 or later, choose Show Printer List from the View menu. The Printer List window appears.
  4. Click the Add Printer button.
  5. Choose USB from the first pop-up menu.
  6. Select your printer from the list.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Close the Printer List window.

How to add a network printer (AppleTalk or LPR)

Adding an AppleTalk or LPR network printer is very similar to adding a USB printer. In Step 4 above, you would choose AppleTalk or "LPR Printers using IP" from the pop-up menu. From there, the setup differs slightly.

AppleTalk printer
  • AppleTalk must be enabled in Network preferences.
  • If your network uses AppleTalk zones, choose one from a second pop-up menu that appears.
  • Make sure to avoid potential issues with AppleTalk multi-homing.

LPR printer
  • You must enter the printer's IP address or DNS name.
  • If you're printing to a queue, deselect the checkbox for "Use Default Queue on Server", then type the queue's name. If not, leave the checkbox selected.
  • You can select your printer from the Printer Model menu or leave it at Generic. In essence, are selecting a PPD file.

Question mark appears, or trouble finding a printer?

If you can't find the printer you want to add in the list of connection methods, make sure you're choosing the right connection type for your printer. Some printers may use custom input-output modules, such as "Epson AppleTalk". You may need to select one of these custom options in order to add your printer. If there's a question mark on the printer's icon, or Print Center or Print Setup Utility lists it as unsupported, check for an updated software version at the manufacturer's website, or the Mac OS X downloads page.

Tip for software installation

Your printer may appear in the printer list before manufacturer-required software is installed. If you have such a printer, remove the printer from your printer list before installing the software. Add the printer back to the list after you've installed the software.
