Port problem everything seems attached right but keep getting error printing.

INSUFFICIENT POWER - USB PORT
If you get an error message "Insufficient power to operate USB device" when you plug a USB device into the computer's USB port or the un-powered USB hub that is attached to the computer's USB port, then this device is drawing excessive current that the USB port cannot supply. The maximum output from an USB port is 500mA. In case such as this, you need to purchased a powered USB hub and connect this hub into the computer's USB port and then connect the USB device into this powered USB hub.

Try uninstalling the printer and then reinstall.

Sometimes not all the information needed gets installed.

start - print and fax - right click on HP Photosmart C4480 - properties - port (change to USB)..

after the ink test press the scanner once

Check whether the printer is in offline. Double click the printer icon in the bottom right of the screen (near time). Or double click your printer in the printers and faxes. Your printer job menu will open. Select printer and check whether use printer offline is ticked. If so, remove it. The another problem is your usb port number may be changed. check it in printer properties.

chage the printer port. START- SETTINGS-PRINTERS & FAXES - right click on the printer icon and goto properties you will get another window. goto port choose the right port

Go to Start, Printers and Faxes. Right click on your printers and select properties. Click the port tab. If you are using a parallel cable make sure LPT1 is checked. If you are using a USB cable makes sure USB is checked.

when i remove the black cartridge, everything seems to be working fine
think my problem got smth to do with the black cartridge but i never had a problem like this before

Try going into your device manger, and see if you have a exclamation mark by your ports.. Check and make sure you have the usb cable plugged into the correct port. Good Luck! :)
