The documents in the print spooler need to be deleted.
multiple copies of the document are possibly sitting in the spooler.
another fault could be the amount of copies that were selected.
right click the taskbar and select Task Manager while the printer window which says 'Deleting Printing is open'. In the Task Manager select Applications tab and right click the task that corresponds to the printer window, then select 'Go to process' and press the 'End Process'' button.
HP photosmart C4480 power on but screen blank and nothing flashing - keeps asking to connect usb cable, this has been checked and new cable tried but still not working
I had the same problem (I've had the printer for 3 days). I checked my print queue and found that a file from the previous day was too large (1.1MB) I couldn't delete the file so went to HP website. I downloaded a utility file and voila....fixed the issue.
Sounds like a driver maybe messed up.

Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and
reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the
software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it
should again work properly.
