I have a cracked outer plastic covering. The kids threw something at the screen. Any ideas? Can I get a replacement or can I just remove the outer covering? If I can remove how would I go about doing that?I have a cracked outer plastic covering. The kids threw something at the screen. Any ideas? Hello, the lcd portion of the screen is broken and it will have to be replaced even though the outer plastic appears undamaged. You will find that it is cheaper to replace the set than to replace the screen. Sorry for the bad news.
Hi, if no longer under warranty? a replacement screen is only option. Is the main lcd panel cracked also, i.e. bleeding in display when pressed? There is an outer cover on top of lcd panel known as the digitizer, this part controls the touch movement of screen. If lcd is undamaged a new digitizer can be purchased at reasonable price here.http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/wholesale-kocaso-touch-screen.html
I will presume it is a AV and not a AB model. Screen may or may not be available from JVC but if it is will be expensive.
Google the model with 'replacement screen" as several sellers have replacements----outer should be clear protective screen and the unit will have 2 more behind it.
another option might be EBAY where junked sets are offered for parts---get the entire front frame with all screens?
see the causes: During fill only air gap deformed or crack, the tube crack cause leak, inlet spout crack cause leak. During drain and spin only main drain hose, inspect the hose, plastic outer tub can rust or split you must replace the entire outer tub All the time check hose for cold and hot water, main tub seal, pump leak replace, outer tub replace. God bless you
There are several parts distributors in the US that supply parts for Hitachi TV's You can try Herman Electronics, Tritronics and PAC parts, all have websites. Be prepared for the cost: a new screen will be in the $300-$400 range. It's not just a piece of ordinary plastic; it's actually two pieces of specially designed plastic designed to disperse the light evenly, called a lenticular and a fresnel.
I had this problem with mine, i sent it to sony and they replaced the screen under warranty, but it has since happened again, as the player was out of warranty (and paying to have it replaced would cost £75) i decided to have a go, and inside, the screen is cracked, its the internal glass panel, not the outer plastic one thats craked.
