Try resetting the power by switching off the TV and then switch off the TV's power outlet and disconnect the TV's power cable from the outlet. Press and hold the TV's Power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power from the TV and then release the button. Turn on the TV in the normal manner and see if it turns on then afterwards.

If it works, put it on Facebook MarketPlace, free to collector. If it doesn't, you might be able to split it in the middle. https://www.cnet.com/reviews/hitachi-51swx20b-review/ ..

With all due respect that's like asking what is the best wife or who is the best team or what is the best restaurant etc.

There simply isn't one simple and right answer to the question.

Use code search on your Sudden Link URC to find something that woks. If a search through all codes stored in the URC fails, try a different one.

I am guessing it's an old(ish) TV. As a plasma the chances are that it is on it's way out. Please Try new cables (HDMI etc)

I don't know but it probably isn't much different to most other tv/remote combinations where commands are given by the remote and carried out by the brain in the tv. Start by pressing the Menu button and the main menu should appear onscreen and from there use the up, down, left and right buttons to navigate the main menu and the select button to select sub-menus and items from the menu(s) until you reach the section on channel search, installation, etc.

First make sure that the current Source or Input is set to TV. This is usually the only reason for the error message you see. To select the source, look for a Source or Input button on the original remote. If you have an universal remote with a button with the Source/Input label, you may need to try alternative codes to make the button work. (Power and channel controls will often match across multiple codes for the TV manufacturer.) Alternatively, check if there is a Source/Input button on the TV or a section of the menu system with the function. Once you set this source, try again. Note: there was a period when manufacturers sold some TVs without tuners. They were labeled HD-ready sets. These can't do a channel scan and do not have an RF antenna jack on the set. I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your Hitachi TV for more information on setting the source on your set. Cindy Wells

Under Audio or Audio Settings on the on-screen menu, TV Speakers is set to On. All of the cables physically connected to the TV and the input devices are secure. Switch to a different input device and verify there is sound from the TV speakers (for example, a DVD player or a gaming console). https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/310570/The+sound+on+my+TV+stopped+working.

look on the back of the television and the DVD player, there should be a SCART socket and/or red, white and yellow AV sockets, either use a SCART lead and connect it to the SCART on the DVD player and the TV.Or use an AV lead with 3 auxiliary shape connectors and match the colour of each connector with the female sockets on both the TV and the DVD player instead of using the other component connections.

Try Ritchie street near the Bata Shoe Shop on Anna Salai road after the LIC stop.
If you have a catalog or picture of the TV go with it and show it around some of the TV shops they might show interest or arrange a buyer for you.Ask some of the many repair shops too - they are on the look out for spares.
