Hotpoint Tumble Dryer keeps pausing

That sounds like an overheating problem. When the machine pauses, the blower fan stops running and that allows the heat to build up enough to trip the high level thermostat. You can test this by running a cool cycle.

Drive belts don't squeak because they are made of rubber. Things that do squeak are rear drum bearing, front bearings or drum slides, idler pulley wheels or the tension springs.

The machine needs a full strip down, cleaning, de-fluffing and lubrication. Also check the exhaust hose and the grill outside except it appears you have a condensing dryer. Make sure that unit is clean..

Maytag washer squeaks when spin cycle stops

We have a Maytag Performa G3300 that we bought on 8/13/2001. It still works great, but on 2/25/10 it stopped heating. We found that by removing the front panel and vacuuming the accumulated lint on the inside of the dryer and the door, the problem was resolved. There were no parts to replace, just vacuuming.

Hotpoint dryer squeaks at regular intervals

Slow squeaking or scraping noises are often from the rear bearing behind the square panel, the rear bearing sleeve is inside the middle of the heater housing and the shaft part is attached to the back of the drum by a "C" clip which needs to be removed first.

The disassembly slideshow is here:

Squeak when running the dryer

It's the roller axles and/or the motor shaft. Remove the front of the dryer and lubricate same.
