Preparing for Scanning Application box

Try using the Lexmark Printer Home software to scan. To access that, on your computer, click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Lexmark Printer Home.

Hello. Uninstall the software properly by going to Start Menu > All Programs > Lexmark Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Restart pc. Probably, the software got corrupted that's why you are having problem with scanning. Reinstall the software by using the cd only this time. The scan software can only be installed using the installation cd that came with the printer.

The scan software might not be installed properly in the computer. Try to run the installation cd in your computer again. If you have already used the installation cd in the computer, running it again should give you three options - Install a printer, Update/Upgrade or Install additional softwares. Choose Install Additional Softwares. In
the next page, place a check mark in Abby FineReader OCR software. Continue and finish the installation. Also, check your
firewall and make sure to allow all Lexmark communications to go
through. Try scanning again. Hope this helps.

You can run your lexmark cd installer again and select custom installation and click on install additional software,, now make sure that you are going to put checks on the boxes especially your abby finereader

try to uninstall the printer driver and reinstalling again the said driver of printer, sometimes it couse problem when the program file of printer have error or corrupt.

Go to Lexmark Support.

In the "Search by Model" box enter x5250. When the model pops up, click it.

In the "Search the KnowledgeBase" box enter "searching for scanning applications". Click "Search".

You will get 2 choices. Click the bottom one, "How to Add a Scanning Application to the All-In-One Center".

Follow the instructions given.

how many lights ae there and if more than 1 which one??
It might be having a catridge error or a paper jam.

If it cnt install using the cd application software, just install its drivers only and see if it will accept.

Plug the printer to the PC and also insert the software cd. If the cd auto runs, cauncil it and look for the new hardware message and install the printer via that route, if not sure how, get back to me.

my lexmark 2500 scan wont work I get App4r exe problem...

I purchased a lexmark 1200 series all in one printer and cannot locate the cd that came with it. Is there a way to install it without the cd? I tried but it says can't find hardware.
