Lexmark 2600 not printing

I recently had the same problem. Your Lexmark printer has automatically placed itself on pause. You must go to the control panel and unpause it from there. Its' simple, just go to control panel and select printer and faxes. Select your Lexmark printer and right click it. Then select resume from the drop down menu. Your printer is now unpaused and ready to print!

Lexmark X2500 is giving Bidirectional communication error message

Make sure that the "Enable Bidirectional Support" checkbox is checked: Go to "Control Panel"->Printers->Right click on the print Object->Properties under "Ports" tab, enable this check box if not already enabled. If you using vista make sure you do this from an "Admin" account, you may also need to select the "Run as Administrator" option after you right click on the "PrintObject".

The port to which the printer is connected is not supported. Check the port

I'm assuming you are using a USB connection, not a Ethernet connection. Try a different USB port (preferably in the REAR of the computer, not the front). It's not unusual to have 1 or 2 poorly-performing (low power) ports on a PC; some printers don't like those. If you have a really old computer, it may have ancient USB type "1" (slow) ports instead of the newer 2.0 or 3.0 USB type. Some printers don't like old USB 1 ports, but it is not supposed to matter. If all else fails, try another USB cord, or a shorter one. Some printers don't work well with cords longer than 4 feet, and USB cords can go bad. Or, try the printer on another computer. If the same USB cord works fine there, YOUR computer has the problem (probably a USB port or USB driver issue). Are you having issues with other USB devices? If so, it may be a Windows driver issue. Good luck. If no help, post your exact printer model # here, or try contacting Lexmark.com support

Lexmark S405 Paper Jam

Hello there ok Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

The printer is always offline

try this go into control panel click on printers to open all available printers. make sure your printer is set to default. right cilck on your printer a menu will appear look for use printer online and click on it if its a setting this will fix it. if not uninstall and then reinstall the printer software with your antivirus disabled

Error says that ocr is not installed

To scan documents for editing and saving as PDF file, you will need to install the Lexmark OCR scan software on your computer. The Lexmark scan software (no downloadable version) is only available on the installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

To install the OCR scan software from the printer installation CD:

Insert CD into the CD-ROM drive. If the installation screen open, click Cancel.
Double-click on My Computer / Computer.
Right-click on Lexmark XXXX CD and select Open.
Double-click on OCR.
Double-click on Setup.exe to install the OCR software. Your operating system will then determine the language in which it is installed.

I contacted Lexmark regarding this issue. I was sent back several steps to follow in order to solve this problem. I couldn't find half of what they were talking about. But I opened the control panel, right clicked printers, server properties, and then advanced. Make sure that both boxes are checked. Then the following directions should work. I just printed several copies of a multi paged document with no problem. Yay.

If these don't work or you can't find things they are talking about try the above first and then these. I had to check that box before I could find the tabs and buttons they were talking about.

Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:

1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and
"Printers."

2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click
"Properties."

3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models,
there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.

4. This is the spool format setting. It should be set to the default to
"Lexmark." Under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."

5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.

6. Please try printing again.

Doesn't print the whole page

Try to re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
