How to Clear Error- 000716-0010 in Canon IR2870 Copier?

Replace the the Fuser film in the fixing unit....
Clear the error and restart the machine problem will be solve....
The white mark of the fuser film on the right side replace properly if you insert reversely same problem will be persist..

Failure of the communication with the 2-way unit
Description
When the communication with the 2-way unit is faulty after detecting the connection with the finisher.
Remedy
1.Install the 2-way unit.
2.Check the cable.
3.Replace the DC Controller PCB (PCB4).
4.Replace the 2-way unit driver PCB.

this error refer there is a problem in the fixing unit, check thermistor and clear that error from service mode

The error you are giving isn't a toner error. It relates to a loss of communication with the pedestal. Canon's service manual says to check the cable leading down to the pedestal. If still properly seated, replace the DC Controller Board or Pedestal Control Board.

press *(additional function) then press 2 & 8 together and *(add. fun.) again . select COPIER on screen then <function>..<clear>...<system>...<hd clear>.... switch off and after a minute start. if problem continues.... replace hard disk.
