Paper feeding kit for MP tray

(1) Disconnect the AC cord from the Printer.
(2) Press the front cover release button.
(3) Open the Front cover.
(4) Remove the Drum/toner ASSY.

Open the MP feed frame cover. (6) Remove the Holder bearing MP. Lift up the Lift arm MP to release it from the Pin of the MP roller holder ASSY. (8) Slide the MP roller holder ASSY to the direction of the arrow 8a and put it up to remove. Fig. 3-77 (9) Turn the back side of the Separation pad ASSY MP to the direction of the arrow 9a and put it up to remove. (1) Put the Hook of the Separation pad ASSY MP into the MP feed frame and pull down the Separation pad ASSY MP to the direction of the arrow 1b until it is locked. Fig. 3-79 (2) Lift up the Lift arm MP and put the MP roller holder ASSY into the MP feed frame. Put the Pin of the MP roller holder ASSY into the hole of the Lift arm MP. (3) Put the Holder bearing MP into the MP feed frame and turn the Holder bearing MP to the direction of the arrow 3c to lock. (4) Close the MP feed frame cover. Holder bearing MP Hook MP feed frame cover Front cover MP feed frame 3a 3b 3c MP feed frame(5) Install the Drum/toner ASSY into the Printer. (6) Close the Front cover. (7) Connect the AC cord into the Printer. Printer AC cord Drum /toner ASSY Front cover .

MP is the tray in the front it looks like a door on the front. When you open it it turns into a tray for you to put the label paper on.

490 error means -

LOAD mmm AND PRESS ONLINE SWITCH 490: MP TRAY EMPTY

Print job from MP Tray has been received and the MP Tray is empty.

Load the requested media (mmm) in the MP Tray and press ON-LINE.

Check your print driver settings and see if your defualt try is set for the MP Tray. Also see if the page setup for the print job is set for MP tray.

Could be a tab or spring broken off of the feed tray, dirty feed roller can cause that error when paper doesn't feed. Paper guide too tight so that paper can't lift to the feed roller also a possibility. Sensor above paper stack out of position.. many possibilities.

The gear drive is located in the paper tray lift motor assembly. The gears teeth strip away with wear and tear and can no longer lift the tray to feed paper. Replace this assembly and not just the gear.

"MP" tray is refering to the top fold down tray on the front of printer (bypass tray) You might load paper in the bypass and see what it does?

open the mp tray
locate 2 white plastic egg shaped piece on the ends of the steel rod
gently push one or the other towards the back of the machine
if the paper jam error message is on then the roller will turn as soon as you give it a push
re load the paper
open and close door a or e
printing should resume
that white piece works with the paper lift to get the paper up to the in feed roller

is this still a current issue?

make sure there is no paper at the back of the tray.also make sure the tray lift motor is working.the last thing to check is that there is nothig broking of the back of your paper tray..
