I have a Lexmark C510 colour printer: Manufacture date June 2005.
I had been getting the "Paper Jam 241 error in Tray 1" message for some time. Sometimes it would print just fine but in the past several months, it's been bad. I'd pull the tray out (notice roller marks on the top sheet that was only partially fed), reinserted the sheet properly into the tray and try again and again. The techy at Lexmark mentioned that I could purchase a new rubber roller that feeds the sheet but that I might first wipe down the roller myself as they get worn and old. I first wiped it down with a damp cloth to clean it then thought to try reconditioning it with leather conditioner we'd purchased for our couch (I'm sure Amourall would work just as well). Voila, the old, dry roller was picking up paper again. Just open the rear door and that grey roller (it's black again when you recondition it) is at the bottom. Hope that helps.
Clean up the Pick Up Rubber. When you are able to get the Pick Up Rubber out of the maschine rotate it 180 degrees an reinstall it. then the problem would be fixed.
no you might have a paper jam somewere and mabe you ink rollers are dry you might have to tell the printer to to a pre test and clean and if there is a paper jam it should be a slot on the back by the roller should be a tap that shows the tollers look for a pice of paper jammed somewere in the roller you migh have to take the paper out to inspct it for a paper jam and if none mabe the print heads are dry and it dosent feed the paper then could be it ok clean the print heads tell the printer to to a roller clean and then after that if no paper jam no were try printing a page take all the paper out and feed it manually and if it prints then some printer want feed if you have filled the paper tray up try putting less and then try
If it appears to start printing sucks up a sheet a little way and then stops red light on etc try the waste toner trick. I was plagued by this problem for ages then took out the waste toner container sucked out the dust with a vacuum cleaner stuck it back no more jams. It is less a jam than the thing just getting an error from the waste toner. The other thing could be the paper feed roller. There is a rubber on this that grips the paper and feeds it if it is worn then the paper wont feed. I flipped it over kind of turning it inside out to get a fresh smooth side that will grip and feed the paper. If you are a little dextrous then it isnt a difficult job. Had two of these and problems on paper feed with both. The toner is expensive the waste container at a tenner is a ridiculous price. Still the second one was bought as it was cheaper to get the whole printer with toner than a 4 colour toner pack, I use it for spares! email if you want to try the feed roller trick.
Brother printers dislike photo gloss paper, even if it is only 110gsm, they just don't seem to be able to feed it around the rollers. I suggest using a Matte paper, but no more than 140gsm
Sounds like a piece of paper is stuck inside the machine. Open all access doors and check. Remove the printer cartridge and reinsert. Make sure the print job has been purged from the queue.
duplex area related jam in other printers. is problem only occurring in tray 1. If so, there is a problem with the tray. If it's happening from tray 1 and tray 2, replace try replacing transfer belt.
