We have a Dell 3115cn in our office. Many of us have the option to print double sided from our computers, and it works well. However, one person in the office does not have that option in the drop down menu. When they do try to select Dulplex -> "flip on long edge," their request is followed by the error:
There is one or more conflicting settings:
[2 Sided Print]:[Flip on Long Edge]

Assuming your printer DOES HAVE a duplexer fitted, you need to use the option in the printer driver to 'get information from printer' - this will update the available options as far as the driver is concerned.
"Here is what I did to reset the Dell 3115cn Laser Printer. In the users manual for the 3115cn in section 6 "Changing System Settings" "Resetting Defaults" refers to page 64 where it says, " For more information, see "Reset Defaults" in the User's Guide. Only I did not get a User Guide with my Dell. So I Googled "3115cn user guide" and downloaded it to my desktop and then went to Resetting Defaults. In the attachment "Initializing NVRAM for Network Settings" is what I did. Hope this helps someone else."
It was the same problem. To enable drop down menu open "Device Option" tab where you will see list: Duplex Non Instaled Tray2 Not Installed Tray3 Not Installed ......... Just double click on "Duplex Not Installed" and it will changes on "Installed" and Double sides drop down menu become active.
you can do so if your machine has a duplex unit attached.if it has a duplex unit then for printing you have to select 2 sided profile as default or for prints when u want double sided from you pc print software(canon) or the server if you have one .that way u will get all the prints in 2 sided.
for copying u have to select 2 -2 sided by pressing the 2sided key on the console of the copier.then place the originals in the ADF and thats all
If you have a Canon MG5220 you certainly can print two-sided. I have one and I print two=sided pages. When you bring up your print menu underneath "Orientation" is a small window that likely says "layout". Click that window and you will have various options to choose from; color matching, paper handling, cover page, quality media color options. borderless printing and duplex printing & margin. Choose Duplex & Margin. Once you've clicked that you'll see a check box for duplex printing, click that box. You have other options for for reduced or normal printing (your choice) and then if you're stapling there's options for the side you'd prefer but the point is once you've checked off that box for duplex printing you're set to go.
You need to visit the Printer in Control Panel - Printers and double click on the 1720 icon and go through the setup tabs and select Duplex Printing. If you only want to print duplex occasionally you can select duplex from the print options presented when you print a document by selecting the Preferences or Setup button when the Print Dailoig box appears.
