No picture, not even menu items. Replaced the bulb thinking that was the problem. Powers up correctly with the smiley face in the error reporting window. Then heard the power down sound and a bulb with exclaimation mark displayed in the error reporting window. The bulb is a phillips brandnew just purchased.

If you look in the back of your tv, you should be able to see the light from the bulb, if the bulb isn't working no light.

there are several things that need to take place for the lamp to turn on. first the color wheel needs to turn on ( if you can hear a whinning noise then this is fine) next the tv will send a signal to the lamp ballast to turn on, and the ballast needs the 130v dc supply from the power board ( simoly remove the lamp and reinstall the lamp door, turn tv on, and if you hear an arcing noise from the ballast you know this is fine too. the board that controls all of this is the dmd board. so if the color wheel works, ballast starts then i would replace the dmd board....

faulty color wheels will cause the unit to shut down. u can always pull the lamp and inspect to see if blown. i just replace a color wheel on a samsung.. where that was the problem. in startup sequence the color wheel has to reach a certain speed
