Hp2200D Won't print - "jam" light comes on - but no jam

I've practically taken the printer apart looking for possible paper that is jammed. I can confidently say there is no jam. However, when I hit print on any document, the green light flashes, it hums like it is going to print but never picks up paper. Then the jam light flashes again. I've re-started, re-booted and run through all the troubleshooting suggestions. Help?!

Have you cleaned the feed roller? If it's dirty it'll spin but won't pick up any paper. Look at the paper after a "jam." Can you see any black roller marks on it? That's a sure sign of a dirty roller. If you suspect a dirty roller, clean it with a little alcohol on a cloth.

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

The paper in the printer is lined up and everything should be working however I need to print things for work and it tells me that it is either jammed or that I need to load/ reload the paper. I can't...

I have found over the years that printers really don't lie. If it says there is a paper jam there usually is. I have completely taken apart a large laserjet printer to find a very tiny piece of paper causing the problem. Also if you run sticky labels through printers they have a tendency to leave residue or even part of a label behind which will cause the printer to tell you there is a jam. Check your printer very carefully, use some canned air to blow it out. You may need a printer repair person to come out and take it apart to look for possible stuck paper.

The paper twists and causes a jam on every print

sounds like something jamed in the rollers like a pin etc

Printer jammed. I cleared the jam but it

You most likely have a tiny piece of paper stuck in the paper path that cannot be seen unless taken apart. Depending on the type of printer... remove the paper tray and the back cover and look for any small shred of paper. If you still see nothing, a local repair shop would be your best option.

Won't print - says 'paper jam 2' but no paper is stuck in machine

Paper jam 2 error code is saying the jam is in the fuser area of the machine.
You need to remove the toner cartridge, and since you said you've taken the whole thing apart, maybe try a flashlight and look for a LITTLE piece of paper that may have torn off that remains stuck around that fuser area (the fuser is the thing behind the toner that gets hot-- so be careful -- but look in the corners and anywhere a small piece of paper could have torn and got stuck.

If you're absolutely sure that there is nothing stuck, I'd try to do a hard-reset: Turn off the machine, unplug the power cord and the cable that goes to your computer (if it's hooked up to one. And if it is hooked up to a computer, power down the computer as well.) Wait a minute or two, plug the computer back in, plug the power cord and cable from the printer back in, then turn on the printer and the computer and let them both go through their various start-ups.

If none of that works, let us know.. but from what I know and the docs I have access to, it should work... (fingers crossed!)

Good Luck!
