Print out looks 'dirty'. When toner cartridge

Print out looks 'dirty'. When toner cartridge gets low, the print out look like black toner has gotten on the paper. How do I clean this?
This is a HP 2605dn

    replacing the cartridges does not help. We have a shadowy grey film on every one of our color prints. I think this is why Info Mgmt was willing to trade us our hpcolorlaser 2550n for this one.

I solved this by doing the following:
- ran the Clean ETB function from the engineering menu - press the [tick] button, then press the [left arrow] and [stop] buttons at the same time
- did this again!
- printed a cleaning page
- replaced the black cartridge (refurbished)

Seems to be OK

If the black toner cartridge (Q6000A) is not original, problem with the doctor blade, bad calibrated.

Use Original cartridges?

See This:

The amount of background toner shading becomes unacceptable.

1.The media might not meet HP specifications.

Hi when printing black or grey outside edges

sounds like your black toner cartridge is getting low or not filled evenly. To fix this until it get a bit lower on toner just take the cartridge out and holding it up right give it a few shakes side to side. The will spread the toner power out inside and you should be printing normally again.

This can also happen if you moved or bumped the printer. Usually you only see this when the toner is low or after you print a lot of pages. Most text is in the mid of the paper so thats where the toner get s used the most.

It says toner life end and it prints just fine

The toner life end message means the toner is getting low. It will continue to print without any problem. Eventually you will see the print starting to get light in spots. If it is a new cartridge, the toner level sensors are probably dirty.

Replaced black toner..now printer won't print any

In this case, actually it is not the Black toner that got depleted. Here the message being displayed indicate that one of the color Toner supply need to be replaced as it got depleted and currently the printer is printing in Black and white using the Black toner cartridge.

in this case, to troubleshoot these issues please try performing the following and check for the results.

* 1. Check for the level of the toner cartridges:

a) Check from the HP Toolbox application. Here are the steps to be performed from your PC:

* Access the Toolbox software.
* Select the Status tab.
* Select the Device status option.

Here you can check for the supplies status in terms of the % remaining for each toner cartridges.

b) By checking the supplies status from the printer control panel display.

On the printer display when printer is in Ready mode the supplies status can be checked from the supplies level indicator. Each toner cartridge and the Imaging drum level will be indicated by a bar which varies according to the level of the supplies present.

c) Print the supplies status page from the printer.

* On the printer control panel menu, press Menu .
* Use the (Right Arrow) button to select Reports, and then press Enter .
* Use the (Right Arrow) button to select Supplies Status, and then press Enter .

If any of the color toner cartridges and the Imaging drum have a low supply level replace them with genuine HP print cartridges.

The part numbers of the consumables are as follows:

* Black print cartridge - Q3960A
* Cyan print cartridge - Q3971A
* Magenta print cartridge - Q3973A
* Yellow print cartridge - Q3972A
* Imaging Drum - Q3964A

Konika Minolta 2430 DL won't let me print

Look through the menus on the printer for a setting for "Low Toner" -- the choices of what to do are usually either "continue" or "stop" or something similar (my 2430DL has this option setting) -- set this option to "Continue".
My 15 year old HPs also have a similar setting. However, this will keep it printing when the black runs out, so you will need to check your print production run visually as you go along to make sure the quality is what you need

Is there a override function to keep printing when toner alerts are on?Wondering since black still shows 30%.

These printers will still print when any or all of the toners are LOW, but if any one of them is EMPTY (according to the chip on the toner cartridge) printing stops.

Standard capacity toners ere 2000 page for the colours, and 3000 page for the black, so they can soon be used up.

Much cheaper per page printed, if you use the high capacity cartridges (6000 page for the colours, and 8000 page black).

There are high quality remanufactured cartridges available now, as good as OEM, and typically you'll get a Hi Capacity Remanufactured cartridge for the same sort of price as a Std Capacity OEM cartridge.

As a short term solution at a lower cost than replacement cartridges, you could just replace the cartridge CHIP. The printer would then think the toner was full (there'll likely to still be some toner in it), so you'll be able to print. Don't run the printer like this for ever though, as the toner has some lubricant properties, and with a TRULY EMPTY cartridge, you'll eventually do some damage to the cartridge, and then possibly the transfer belt (and you don't want to be changing that until it's rated 100,000 page life is up.

Printed pages look dirty

That black dust that fell out is the toner. When you shake a toner cartridge that shouldn't happen. It looks like you have a faulty toner cartidge and that need to be replaced! Now to make your printer prints cleanly and clearly after you replace the cartridge, you'll need to get someone to service the printer(the faulty toner cartridge more than likely spilled toner on your internal printer parts, cause the smudges). Sevicing would mainly entail, taking down the printer and removing any spilt toner! If you feel you are up to this, be cautious, because toner can be hazardous to your health if you accidentally breathe it in! hope this was helpful! regards babb
