How do you replace a pick up roller on a brother
The pick up roller is in the paper tray. It is the roller in the middle front of the tray. Usually, you press the roller to one side and it will pop out. Install the new one doing the reverse. There is a seperation pad that may need cleaning, too. Rub it with a damp cloth.

Brother Hl-2040 laser printer
Fonts and sizes are typically controlled by the application you are using. Are you sure you are increasing the font size? I've had some users confused by the zoom feature which is more like a magnifying lens. It just makes thing larger for viewing purposes and does not affect the print size. To change the actual font size of a document already created you would first highlight the text in the document. In Word (other applications are similar) you would then select Format from the main menu bar, then select Font. In the next box that appears you would click on the Font tab, and then in the Size field select a larger font size. After that click on OK and you should see your font size change.

Hl 2140 error light is flashing
Got the same problem, but in fact it WAS a paper jam. Open both the back panel (can you see the orange roller clearly? If so, no jam) and the front panel. Grab the handle and take out the toner and drum and check there is no paper. Chances are there will be.
Printer is showing offline and it's connected
If you "right click" on the printer icon, is there an option to "use printer Online", If so click it, and the problem should be solved. If it just says "use printer offline" then that is not the problem, and I suggest re-installing the software.

Prints only blank pages
I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".
This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

Error E50 comes up on the printer when there is an issue with the fuser unit of the printer. It is either the fuser unit is faulty or fuser unit is not clean. This what you can do to get the error fixed--
All "left" and "rights" are when facing the front of the printer. Remove the electrical cord from the back of copier by pulling. Remove bottom tray. Remove the smaller tray that comes out the back that has a LTR/A4 lever. Open front of machine to take out toner and drum just to make it lighter. Leave open. Take off top cover (4 screws and two wire jacks to unplug). Remove screw on back right side near bottom. Remove screw on front left near bottom that holds left side cover. Remove screw on back left near bottom (it holds a piece in the back and the side cover). Slightly pull out that back, left plastic piece (it won't come out all the way yet) and wiggle things around to get the left side cover off. That back left piece that didn't come out all the way has a plastic *** holding it in. To be able to press that *** is why the side cover is removed. Press *** and pull the back left piece out while wiggling things around to get the 3 plastic pieces in the back to all come out. This exposes the fuser. Remove the two wire jack connections. Remove the two screws holding fuser in. One of those screws is big with a spring - don't worry, the spring stays in place. The other screw looks normal, but it is a little longer than the other screws so remember where you lay it. Find the 2 black wires on the fuser leading to the problem piece. Remove the single screw holding it in. Pull it out and clean the wire connections. Now put things back together.
And after this is done reset the printer by--
Switch the machine on. Wait until the yellow data light goes out. Now hold down the 'GO' button AND the '+' button together four about four seconds. The LCD panel will now display a 'RESET COMPONENT LIFE' message. Use the + and - keys to select the fuser unit, and reset it. Turn the printer off. Turn it on again and it will work. Now reset the drum counter , and also the toner cartridge counter in the same way.

Red "Paper" light blinking Brother HL-2040
I agree with another su=olution. The paper light was blinking on and off sugesting a paper jam. Paper had jammed in the back roller and displaced the small lever out of its slot.
Open rear cover, open paper guide by pulling it downwards so you can see the rollers, In the middle of the guide you will see a black lever about 25mm long to the right of this you will see a small slot. The guide will have been pushed to the left of this slot and the Plastic cam will be bowing toward the front of the printer (about 3mm). You need to pull the 25mm lever towards the rear of the printer and then slide the plastic cam to the right so the blade part of the cam slides into its correct slot. The blade is about half a mm thick and the slot is the same and is about 60mm to the right of the lever Use a torch to see it easier. This is a 2 minute job once you see what is wrong.

Toner LED remains on with after new cartridge is installed.
Open the front cover and leave open while completing the following steps:
Turn the printer off.
Hold the 'go' button while turning the printer on. All panel lights should be on.
Release the 'go' button.
Press the 'go' button 2 times.
Pause.
Press the 'go' button 5 times.
The toner light should be off.
The paper light should be on.
Close cover. The ready light should be the only light on.

Problem: cannot
pull tray out load a couple sheets look underneath and see if paper is lifted up when closing paper drawer. If the paper is not raised to the up position you have broken the tray lift mechanism and it is not worth fixing. You can jam an eraser underneath the tray to manually raise the tray to do a dodgy fix.
My hp 5510 photosmart printer will not print in black
Make sure you have run a cleaning cycle before spending money replacing anything. Sometimes the print heads will get a little dry and a color or multiple colors will stop printing. Have you replaced the black cartridge recently? Make sure you have pulled all the tape off correctly. There is an air hole that needs to be opened usually under the tape that will prevent the ink from flowing out of the cartridge. Let us know what your results are after checking the cartridge and running a cleaning.
How do i stop print on brother hl2040
Right click with mouse on the print icon in bottom right of pc ,select cancel print in list, then go to printers in control panel and clear all print jobs in your printer list.
Lines on papre
Replace the toner cartridge.
There is probably a flaw in the image drum. Replacing the toner will replace the image drum (they are one piece)
Faint print on Brother HL-2040
Try cleaning the drum cylinder with alcohol and a cotton ball. Then swipe the corona wire cleaner back and forward making sure to return it to the correct place. Try a print. If it is improved - replace the drum at earliest convenience. If not improved - could be dirty laser lenses or problem with the fuser.

try to easily pull the paper out even if is a "tight stuck"
you have to firm grab the piece of paper and gently pull it out millimeter by millimeter
