My DVD player is becoming very selective about the DVD's it will play, and the ones that it rejects as the wrong "format". It seems to be getting more selective by the day, and prefers newer...

Ya, it does sound like the lense is dirty. To clean it you can pick up a cleaning CD or DVD. It basically will clean your lense while it plays. You can find them at bestbuy or circuit city. The CD actually has a brush on it and will wipe the dust from the lense while the disk plays. Keep me posted. If you thought this solution was helpful please rate it when you get a chance. Lense will not retract

Have you checked your battery? Is it depleted? Try new batteries. Usually this will fix the problem.

Otherwise, is your camera dirty? Grit in the lens apparatus will stop it from moving properly. Check if cleaning is needed.

MX1063 will turn on and lens comes out, but immediately turns off and lens goes back in. I charged it for hours and still nothing.

The outside of the lense may be dirty. When it comes out clean it. Or something else prevents it from fully opening. If it is clean, you might have droped it and damaged or broke mechanical part(s) of your lense. When it opens, try to hold the lense open, do not force it. If the did not help, take out the lense from the camera and inspect the lense. look for broken, or bent parts. Clean it and push the lense in and out. If it moves in and out without any problem, put it back on your camera. If the problem was from the lense, your camera should be back to normal.

Good luck!!!!!!!

How to fix a popped off lens

Try turning the camera on and off a few times. If it did not go in while turning it off gentely push the lense in. You might have to try this a few times. If the lense retracts, but not all the way in, push the lense a litte harder in. When the lense is 100% retracted, turn the camera back on, the lense should pop off. Your lense is probaly dirty. Need to clean it and keep it clean always.

Good luck

1= the outer screens could be dirty.clean with screen protector cleaner.Spray on cloth and not on outer screens.
2= outside lenses of picture tubes could be dirty.Unit can be opened .Outside lenses can be cleaned with a lens cloth .Do not use paper towels or cotton as this my scratch surfaces of lenses.
3= inside of picture tubes could be dirty. This should be done by a repair shop only(dirty coolant inside tubes)
