I solved this problem myself. You have to continue working with the housing until the connections meet just perfect. It was extremely frustrating but in the end I got it to work.

There is a Micro switch which closes the Circuit on the Boards.

Might as well check the fans

Try unplugging the unit for 10-15 minutes, if not TV need upgrade call authorized Sony service to do that ,don't waist money for new lamp,won't cure problem

XL2400 lamp are same every where and can be used in Sony tv either in 110V 60Hz or 220V 50Hz

Did you bought the original lamp or compatible lamp or second hand /refurbished lamp. If its compatible lamp then,in some cases the compatible lamp does not support.If its second hand/refurbished lamp then in some cases,the second hand lamp bulb are actually used lamp,so this lamp has very few hours left in it.In that case if works for few hours,but when this few hours gets completed the bulb explodes.---------- Confirm if you are getting brand new original lamp from sony.Get original sony lamp.Keep updated with the details.Thanks.Helpmech.

This is by far the best xl2400 site ive come across so far. Has all the details as well as replacement guide and a direct link to amazon.com for purchasing...definitely check it out if you have any questions or concerns.

On that particular model I believe there is both a lamp indicator light and then the power indicator light. If it is lamp related the lamp indicator light (LED that looks like a sun in a cup...) would be on.

If the power indicator light is flashing red to green, that is a self diagnostic code, and you will have to contact an authorized Sony repair fascility for them to translate the problem. The error codes are not listed in the user manual, since most are not user serviceable.
