Sony LCD Projector - burned prisms
I have the same projector, but my problem is with red.
A replacement prism assembly is about $2k.
If you can get your hands on another projector for cheap, that's your only hope. You can swap out the blue lcd panel from your prism with someone else... it's a bit of mucking around, but worth it of you can.

Hi BEEZELLE
Does the VGA input work ?
If not then the Mainboard is at fault and will need either repair or replacement.
Projector smells hot
I have a Dell 2400mp 3,000 lumens. After you pull out the old lamp, find an air chuck, now be carfull, you want to make sure that there is no watter in the air line, trust me what can go wrong dose.<---. Now make shure that the air pressure going into the projector fan is not to much, for example 120psi would rip your projector appart. This was the best cure for mine, be carfull with those air cans also, they work well for alot of stuff, but projector fans are a little harder to get to. If you use an air can make shure to hold it in the position it would be if it were on a counter or sitting some other place. And do not put the screws on very tight.

Lamp/cover button blinking red, how can I solve my Sony projector?
The blinking red lamp/cover button on your Sony projector typically indicates an issue with the lamp or the projector's internal temperature. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
- Check the lamp cover: Make sure that the lamp cover is properly closed and secured. If the cover is not properly closed, the projector may not turn on or may turn off after a short time.
- Check the lamp: If the lamp cover is properly closed, the next step is to check the lamp itself. Remove the lamp and check it for any visible signs of damage, such as cracks or discoloration. If the lamp appears to be in good condition, try reseating it to ensure it is properly installed. If you have access to a replacement lamp, try installing it to see if the problem is resolved.
- Check the projector's air vents: Ensure that the projector's air vents are not blocked or obstructed, as this can cause the projector to overheat and shut down. Make sure that the projector is placed in a well-ventilated area.
- Reset the projector: Try resetting the projector by turning it off and unplugging it from the power source for several minutes. Then, plug it back in and try turning it on again.
- Consult the user manual: If none of the above steps solve the issue, consult the user manual for your Sony projector for further troubleshooting steps or contact Sony's customer support for further assistance.
If the issue persists, it may indicate a more serious internal problem with the projector that may require professional repair.
