~Brother MFC 3220c printing problem-o!~

Every time I print a paper, the ink comes out in stripes. Then the ink seems to just fade away. The stripes is the thing that really gets me worried. Is it already too old to function? Or does it just need some fixin'?

SOURCE: no print at brother mfc-24c

"Machine Error 50" (or "Unable to Print") indicates either a simple problem such as a paper or part of a paper stuck inside the machine, which of course is solved by opening the machine as much as possible and remove the reason for the jam.
However, if that doesn't work, the error is mechanical, and there isn't much you can do. If the message comes back right after turning on the machine, you'll have to have service performed on the machine.

SOURCE: My Brother Printer (model MFC-290c) and ink

On your printer take a look on the "ink management button"press it then look for cleaning using the arrows up and down then press ok or set or what ever the command the printer will display just try to perform head cleaning.try for several times lets say 4x don't clean too much it might ruin all other color if it has no changes try to bring it to a service center, they can soak it to a chemical solution, the head is clog.

POWER PURGE!!

Hold down the menu key. While still holding the menu key, unplug the machine and plug it back in. Do not let go of the key until the machine reboots and the screen says "maintenence". Hit the following keys: 7, 6, 4,black start. The machine will then go into "power purge" or deep clean mode for about 5-7 minutes. When complete hit: 99 to get out of maintanence and reboot. Be sure to have extra ink cartidges on hand as it does use up a lot of ink but this process works the best every time when the printer wont print

I have a Brother MFC 240C printer that will not print black ink. I just changed all the cartridges. All the other cartridges print. I ran the clean cycle many times. No error messages just blank paper.

I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

My printer wont print even after changing ink and cleaning

When cleaning doesn't help, you need a new printhead. Around $89.00 now and then you add labor. They sell a new MFC 490 for around $120.00 with a year warranty.

Brother MFC-3220C, the black ink cartridge is jammed in the print carriage. It's not printing and I wanted to take it out to clean and I cant get the release to let go so I can take the black cartridge...

Try releasing the two metal clips by the side that hold the print head. Take out print head partly and try removing the black cartridge again. Hope this help

Brother MFC 3220c machine error 41

I had the same problem with a Brother MFC3420C after replacing the print head with a new one the same error 41 occured 4 weeks later.

I finally fixed the problem (see photo's) and sent the parts back to Brother :-)

Don't buy Brother Inkjet technology its all ****!.

Their laser technology seems to be much more robust and reliable, have had a Brother HL-1440 since 2004 and its still running well.

Brother MFC-3220C

Error 41 is Print head needs to be replaced, on this model it is not a big job, Heads can be purchased from Brother dealers, ring brother to locate if you wish to repair this machine rather than replace it.

Head sells for about $80 for the part from a brother dealer 1-800-284-4329 and it will need a new set of inks too, not really worth it just replace with new machine with ink and a warranty.

Very common issue, brother extended warranty for this fault for two years but yours would be past it by now, the s/n tells of build date, the first two digits of the LAST NINE of the serial number indicate build date, so a K6J702822 ending serial no. means it was built K6 = Nov 06.

I beleive that this is a result a lot of the time by the use of refills and remanufactured ink cartridges being used.

There is heaps of info on net regarding "error 41".
