I can turn the volume down but it goes right back up to full volulme on its own. No buttons seem to be stuck. I thought maybe the remote was stuck. So I took the batteries out but it still does it. I push the volume down button, but as soon as I release it, the volume goes back up to full volume on its own. Some times the volume wont go down when I push on the down button.
Aren you sure that the volume up button is not stuck in . It should feel just like the rest of them A little click? It could still be shorted,or the capacitor across the switch could be defective. If all this seems good then the eeprom, or the microprocessor,or the line or trace going to the volum button could be shorted. This is not a repair you should attempt unless your a tech. Now the button thong can be looked at after the set is unpluged and the back is off, gently slide out the chassis toward the rear of the set just a little and slide it back to see if the button is released. if that dosent help then you will need to take the set to The repair center.
