The standby light flashes and the tv will not come
check the power supply, its not giving out the required voltage output. if you cant repair a tv plse take it to a workshop, ask a technician to make sure that he checks the following components.
power diodes and transistor, fusable resistors around the power supply, and zener diodes.
he should make sure that an ht of 95-110 volts appears on the line transformer. later a transformer will produce various voltages to trigger other voltages to open up your tv. thanks

I have a Sony KV-40XBR800 TV, what board is the component or technology that controls 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio located on the motherboard/chassis, A, B, CX, D, HA, HB, HC, HM, M, U, UD or W.
I would think that the board with the horizontal output circuits and flyback transformer is the area of concern.

My Sony TruSurround by SRS has no picture
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic

will have to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect
and needs to be replaced. If you're still in warranty, the TV will be
repaired at no charge to you. The warranty would likely be at least
one year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. If you
purchased an extended service
they will repair the TV at no charge as well.
If the TV is no
longer in warranty, it will likely cost a minimum of $150 parts and
labor. This is assuming that you only need one circuit
or small part. If the problem is more than one of the circuit boards,
the price of repair could go much higher.
