SOURCE: Picture but no sound

It is most likely the SAP setting is in place. This will kill the sound

To reset the audio, go to the on-screen menu and select the setting for audio and make sure it is on stereo rather than SAP (second audio channel).

toggle the two and see which is compatible to ur Dvd player

thank you

When I hook up DVD player to 32inch LG television there is no color on the TV it plays in black and white. Why?

first check color level setting on the tv when on av source input. double check input you are using, yellow video input (not green)
then try another device in that same input, then try the DVD player on another tv. The problem will be either DVD player or incompatibility or bad main board in TV, but usually a DVD or compatibility problem(cheap DVD player)

I have a coby dvd 224 player connected to Emerson tv, and all I see on screen word video and no picture.

if you're using RCA video cables red white and yellow plug the yellow wire from the DVD player into the green input on the TV and then plug the two audio cables red and white into the same input red and white on the TV it's the green one that carries the video signal this is generally call the component input because it breaks down the colors into their components most DVD players do not have component outputs but if you hook the green and the yellow from the DVD player you should get a picture

The tv on;y shows a small pip window in color if it is a large picture the picture is in black and white how to fix?

Whatever input video signal you're using, PIP should be in color. What are you using out of your dvd for the second video input source, composite or component? Composite you should always have color, Component, if you have a bad red or blue, and just the green is working, you will get black and white. The green is the luminence signal.

Hello.
First you have to figure out location of problem. That means is it inside of your new TV or outside of it?
Best way is to connect DVD player with new set of wires to different input and make sure it is working fine picture and sound wise. If OK - connect it to the same input that you are using with satellite box right now. If it works just fine - problem is outside of TV and originated in box or connection cable.
If DVD player does not work on any input - you have to call your TV manufacturer and schedule an appointment for repair tech. It is should be free of charge because you have 1-year warranty.
Or you can simply return/exchange your TV at the store you purchased it from (depend on store policy).
Regards.

Panaonic Home Theatre DVD system only plays movies inblack white

Check the region and picture settings on the home theatre's dvd player, it could be set to put out a component signal, or it could be set to a PAL region rather than NTSC

I have a 32" LCD TV that I can't seem to get any of my DVD players to work on. Keep getting error message "no video signal" but They use to work. help

How do you have your DVD player hooked up to your TV(i.e. composite, s-video, component)? Some DVD payers and TVs have menus to switch inputs and if you somehow switched off the input your players are connected to, you'll get a "no signal" message.  First try hitting the input button on your TV or the Input/connection option in your TV's menu.  If that doesn't work try hooking up the DVD player(s) with the composite Cable(yellow), the component(red, green, blue) and S-Video(black/round) at the same time. If you scroll through your TV's inputs you should get a picture on one of these connections and the TV should display which one. The display will usually be in the corner of the screen.

My componet/av only shows black and white on my vizio vp422

The 37" Vizio I just bought has a very confusing feature where the same input can be used as either the Y channel of the component or the full video channel for composite. If you plug a component source into the TV and then select the composite input ("AV" on the remote), you will see a black and white version of the full component signal (makes sense as the Y channel is just the luminance component). As sad as it is, I was stumped by this for a while until I happened to hit "COMP" and got full color. FWIW, the manual warns about this, but it really doesn't emphasize the point. I wonder how many returns they get because of this.

Dvd showing in black and white

I'm assuming you're using the yellow ended video cable and two audio cables hooked up to your TV to display the signal. If so, I would just make sure they are connected in the correct output jacks on your dvd player and that they match up with the input jacks on your TV. If so, then I'd try another DVD player to see if that one plays OK.
